  1. Flying tomorrow Manchester-Munich-Singapore, change Singapore to Bangkok.... 19 hours....unfortunately but £270 cheaper than the next cheapest flight.... Hopefully it won't make me too much of a LDOP.
  2. Cheers voracious... Want a small spotting scope for small money (so wouldn't be considering a Bausch & Lomb)..... Looking for something greater than x10 magnification (I think above x8 binocs are either expensive or heavy).... I'll have a look down Beach Road and in Mike's. Thanks for the advice.
  3. It's a long while since I posted, but have a rather mundane request.... can anyone advise me if there's a shop in Pattaya that sells small spotting scopes? Any help is much appreciated. Or am I better off looking in BKK? Am on a flying visit so don't want to waste any time in BKK.... Cheers.
  4. http://notthenation.com/pages/news/getnews.php?id=196 PATTAYA – Thirty-two year-old reigning world Connect 4 champion Nuntaporn “Nok” Hansiri bested Deep Green, the world's most powerful computer, today in a match that promoters had billed as an epic battle of “woman vs. machine.” Ms. Hansiri, who trained locally for the Pattaya Connect 4 Challenge at The Kitty’s Whiskey bar on Soi Diamond, won two games out of three to secure her reputation as the world's foremost Connect 4 mind, making short work of Deep Green in both of her victories. She lost the middle game on a technicality, a

  7. Pilot... not a complete answer to your Q. I think the new regulations came into force in November 07, requiring proof of funds (800,000) for a minimumperiod of 3 months before renewing your visa.
  8. Will the Buccs and the Reds ground share?
  9. Is £800 million a lot of money, I've heard there's a few high rollers on this board..... I suppose he borrows off city institution and it's balanced against MUFC's future earnings off merchandising and gate receipts....
  10. Apparently he did a GOOD job at Tampa Bay Buccaneers.... so may be if he's borrowing a load of cash to do the buy out..... he's obviously going to be aiming for a massive return on his investment....
  11. That's bloody amazing value......considering it'll cost £100 to get to LHR from home!
  12. Did they track him through his bulk buying of viagra?
  13. "Do you have a world map handy? Check out the proximity of France and the U.K. to Germany then locate the USA (BTW, we're on a different continent across all that blue space). Ignoring which countries were directly responsible for the Treaty of Versailles, which countries were at more risk from a rearmed Germany with Adolf Hitler at the helm (a little Navy lingo for the ex-squids)? If you can't figure this out for yourself, ask a Yank tourist or a reasonably bright child." It's too easy. So the US weren't signatories...... Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, Czecho
  14. Bowyer's wallet must be hurting after that beating..... £210,000 ouch!
  15. Nope he'll be letting you know about Bowyer's fine..... 6 weeks wages....
  16. "Sherman land?" Are you referring to the U.S.-manufactured Sherman tanks which American soldiers used to save your Limey bacon in WWII? Of course, I forgot that Commonwealth servicemen never used it. Then the German nickname "Tommy Cooker" must be a misnomer. Of course it's a figment of my imagination that one of the best marks to come out Detroit was the M4A4...... upgunned with the trusty 17pdr anti tank gun..... mind you this was a British upgrade.... Carry on old boy, don't hide your military knowledge under bush, please illuminate us all. To learn at the knee of a military m
  17. "The same two countries which sat idly by while a brutal tyrant came to power in Germany and rearmed its military forces? The same two countries which watched placidly when the Rhineland was reoccupied and Austria was annexed, which sold out the Czechs, and which ignored the U.S.S.R. invasion of Poland while declaring war (years too late) on Nazi Germany?" Who appointed these two countries as the world's watchdogs? What did the USA do.... of course they're not culpable, as they were isolationist.
  18. "There was as much chance of Japan, Germany, and Italy invading and conquering America as there is of the U.K. ever repaying its WWI and WWII war loans to the USA." That's a wicked slur..... I believe it will be paid off this or next year. Please don't tell me we are still paying for those 50 rust buckets, sorry I mean those fine Town Class Destroyers..... lol. As you well know only one was really useful and that was parked in the Normandie gates. Bit suspicious what happened to the ole Normandie... shoddy workmanship? Of course I enjoy your revionist slant on history, I hadn't
  19. Tol Sleng is very educational.... it's surprisingly mundane... Imagine a torture centre taking over a surburban secondary school.... very creepy and pretty scarey for the neighbours.. The coffee shop just outside is excellent. You must try the Blind Masseurs.... excellent bone crunching massages...
  20. Oh I thought winning WW2 was a joint effort. I wonder what the Russians were doing.... What were the US doing in 39, 40, 41?
  21. http://www.statravel.co.uk/statraveluk/fli...x?menuid=1001S1 Alledgedly £333 + £60 for all the other bollox they charge you. April flight 2weeks, with Qatar. Are there any of the Mo-Fo satanists that actually quote the price of flight inclusive of all the other bullshit?

  23. I found out the hard way that there were no ATMs in Cambodia in Mar-Apr04. But you could go to any of the major local banks, with a bank card or cc? and your passport to either get $ or riels.... it was about 4000riels to the buck then...... I asked for small dollars and 100,000 in 500... what a roll... oh oh oh I was rich...
  24. I didn't know Om or the folks at FLB...... only discovered this site after my return to the UK. I think that a lot of joshing and bs flow across these boards... and used used to think the boards were populated by hardened mongers, with hearts of stone.... obviously not..... am delighted that fellow boardees in Pattaya were so very generous.... $2.5k will go a long way to help her parents...
