Yep, on Delta you have to ask to fly on a partner. Last trip I flew China Air and China SOuthwestern, this time Korean. When United filed chapter a few years back I burned there miles up.. Maybe its time to go back.. Another thought is its now $3-400 more a ticket if I want to get miles.. maybe I'll just start flying cheap flights w/o miles.

Since getting award ticket is getting hard to get I'll post another experience. I have been calling and searching on line for an award ticket with the minimum mileage. Looks like the mileage program went up since my last 60/k post in April. I have been calling for a month, sometimes calling twice a day, asking for partners, giving them the partner flight numbers, and trying to fly out of different cities on the west coast. Also, China and Korean both have blackout days for October to work around. Well, I finally got a ticket to Manila return from Bangkok for 75,000 miles. Then I'll buy a one way ticket to Bkk. So this may help you guys trying to use miles to get to Thailand. Also a side trip to AC, then CeBu to Bangkok for the cheap charley's. One other note. On the Delta site when your booking award travel there is a spot that says my dates are flexible. When you hit this it will show you the days that are low mileage award days. There are not very many going to Thailand.

Here's a backdoor way to access award seats on Delta
Skate replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
I struggled with fly blue site and it did give low miles for some days, but when you click on it.. it says unavailable.. and doesn't say what airline.. If someone finds where it say "classic" travel let me know. -
Here's a backdoor way to access award seats on Delta

I'll try it.. I'm strugling with Delta and now trying to get an award ticket on a partner.. PIA.. On the Delta site if you click the button that says "My schedule is Flexiable" it will then show you high and low award levels.. There are very few low awards.. I may switch my AMEX Delta card to points because the mileage program is getting to hard to work with. -

Humm.. I do remember her, but no tatoo. -
I was lucky to get this ticket at 60/k and the outbounnd was on China. I too have 100+/k miles w/Delta. I did find something interesting on the Delta site. If you check the flexable travel date box in award travel, your search will take you to a calander of dates to travel and the mileage required. I was suprised to find what days had lower mileage award seats. I think the new award chart is 80/k to Los. I miss the NWA days.

OK… China Southern, Oh boy.. I did it.. The flight from BKK to China was un eventful, except for a chicken and rice dish was Thai spicy hot. But no worries its leaving Thailand and expected.. The China to LAX flight, we changed gates and were bussed to the plane which was strange. Later I assumed they were working on a problem. We sat on the plane for 2 hours before take off. In flight I talked to one of the stews and said I would not make my connections. Before landing they moved me up to the business class. Running to immigration in LAX and waiting for my luggage I missed my connecting flight. Several of us tracked down the China Southwest agent and they tried to arrange flights for us, then walked us up to ticketing. At ticketing I was told they could not help me except for a hotel for the night. They said my transfer ticket was on another carrier and they couldn’t help me.. BS.. I had to track down a manager at China Southwest for help to find another flight home. I wasn’t about to pay more for a ticket when there plane was 2 hours late. Two hours later they got me a new ticket for my connecting flight the next morning and a hotel for the night. I was told my dinner would be paid for but the hotel restaurant was closed. As for the on board services on the China Southern 777. Most people sleep for 12 hour flights. I can not and usually catch up on a movie or two. The in seat entertainment did not work. Period. I didn’t see anyone watching a screen. I tried to listen and the sound quality was very poor, even the Chinese movies. The only movie in English was a cartoon movie on a continuous loop. I started to watching a Nicholas Cage movie in English and it stopped about 5 minutes into it and went to cartoons. All the movies seem to be in a continuous loop. The controls for the movies & music entertainment were on the inside of the seat and it could not be remove. It was part of the inside of the seat. Usually these can be removed with an attached cord. Not on this plane. Ok we all know about airline food. This was the worse I have had on any airline. The stews seems to lack training in how to position the carts when serving food and picking up trays. I would expect them to have accidents and spill on passengers. Overall the airline gets the job done but everyone seems to lack the training were used to in an airlines industry. Very poor airline even on a free ticket..

what website has the cheapest tickets?
Skate replied to commoncute1979's topic in Airline Discussion
Remember those cheap fares are also coming with very little mileage rewards if any.. Most US flights can earn almost 15,000 miles flying into Los. -
I'm flying out on the 19th at night.. So I decide to just stay in Bangkok to avoid the mess for a few days.. The girls luv me there too.

After I looked at this post I sent an email. Asked about a monthly deal or specials for long stay. They emailed me back 1690/bt a night.

I always give the last girl my Shower Gel and anything else I don't want to take home. It suprised me the first time when I had two differant kinds of shower gel. One was almost empty and she said, No I take. They never want my washed out condoms hanging on the deck. There still good ?

Death of a Shopping Mall: A Rant
Skate replied to MeGoDanceNow's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Yep, that's a great idea. That would chase away the McDee and Starbucks income. Then replace them with Club Blu style places with those big windows. I hate walking through the vendors at night. -
Well, after shedding my tears across the boards about Delta's mileage program. Here is what happened. I have been calling Delta to get an award ticket for 60/k to LOS.. Tried on line many times and it sucks.. I finally bought a cheap Korean ticket on MSN. Yesterday I found out I didn't get any Delta miles because it was a discount ticket. Zero.. Didn't even realize it when I booked.. I also bought the trip insurance and I'm pretty sure I can get out of it.. So today I decided to call Delta again. This time I got a guy that actually wanted to help me instead of the attitude I was usually getting.. I always asked to put me on another partner and this time I said China Air.. and he started searching.. It was a long call... So.. Sea/LAX/Bkk on China Air Bkk/LAX on China Southwest and I bought a cheap Alaska ticket home for $125 from LAX.. cost me 60/k miles.. plus taxes. I have not flown China Southwest so I have my fingers crossed..

My next trip in April is $1060 off Bing with travel Insurance for 5 weeks. Sea-Mnl & Bkk-Sea. and a lay over in LA.. I would think finding deals out of LA would be easy. Sorry, I don't want to throw to much water on your fire, but if your short miles and sure can get a ticket with the extra miles go for it. My experance with miles use to be good, NWA, Delta, United, no problems, and got free tickets. But lately its difficult. I quit flying American airlines to Asia because they got expensive. I would hate to buy miles I couldn't use. I have a bunch with Delta and its a PITA to use them. Right now I can't get a ticket for 60/k to Bkk or my trip above, and I have looked until Nov 2011 any day of the week. They want 120/k and that's equal to 2 international trips. I tried to get them to put me on Korean with the long layover coming back.. wouldn't do it.. I'm trying to get a ticket Sea to Florida, they want 40/k traveling weekdays. Next year I should have my Delta membership statis back so I hope they look at my miles differantly. Ya sure... I would check with others on there current experance using miles on Asiana or United to Asia before I bought miles.

The Cebu flight get into Clark at 4a/m.. I would imagine you would have to pay for the previous nights room to check in at 4 a/m.. Wonder how many cheap charleys hang out in the lobby till the next afternoon to avoid previous nights expence.

your favourite place to stay
Skate replied to berettakid's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
The RG is ok if your riding a bike. But late at night I didn't like getting a baht bus.. I enjoyed the Evergreen last trip. Western style with a great pool and decent buffet breakfast. If you go out the back your right at the Avenue Mall. In a hurry they are moto taxi's in back of the mall. Also, the PBR for those traveling on a budget, off season. Pay 6 nights and the 7th is free. The pool is small and breakfast off a menu. The cool part is there tuk-tuk that takes you to 2nd road for a short walk to Walking Street or Soi Bukkow (spel). -
No kidding.. that's what I was telling Delta.. That is hot season.. Fares from the states have gone up $300-500 in the last couple of weeks.. All airlines. Going to try again on Monday's to see what happens.

A TG friend and I went to TukCom and up dated her music on her mobile at a booth in the back of the cell phone floor. She spoke to him in Thai and I had no idea what she was saying but she was getting tunes she wanted. Later I went back with an micro SD and asked for R & B, hip hop. He loaded hundreds of tunes both Thai and English. I listened to a few and he said this is what we listen to here, not your country. No problem. When I got home I popped in into my desk top to copy.. Oh shit.. he popped on several files of lady boy's and gays in action on it.. man I'm glad I didn't get a customs search.. lol.. so be sure you scan it before you go home.

Think about the return to the airport from Bkk.. No more looking for a cab and trying to make a deal.. But if you have big girlie suitcases.. take a cab..
