This coming Saturday the 24th of march we are celebrating our 6th year anniversary at The Blues Factory, there will be 2 bands featuring Snowman, Mary & The Blues Machine followed by the “Guitar King” Lam Morrison plus guest musicians from Thailand and Around the world. Together with lucky number prizes we hope to have a great night and we look forward to seeing you and I’d like to thank all who have helped us to provide great quality live music over the past 6 years.

If you mean work permits then it has to be cancelled and re-applied for. Licenses can be left I think depending on whether you change the name of the bar and whether the thai on the license is still there. Also depends if you take over the operating company.

I did it for the gogo owners really, I haven't really got any major gripes that would make me lose sleep. I was waiting for them to speak up.

I don't actually, in the early days I used to give him 100bht a night but not anymore. I don't really know the reason why I stopped tipping him although I know he does OK, I suppose I stopped whilst occasionally telling him not to do this and do that and make him treat customer in the way that I want, he was hired by my Manager and the deal was no salary. I normally bung him every now and then, I gave him 5000bht for the new year and on parties etc I always look after his wife and 3 kids and I know that alot of customers, friends etc do look after him. The Blues Factory guy has been there for over 3 years now and he works on tips, he doesn't get a salary, that doesn't mean that you have to tip him because you don't!, He also should not be attempting to massage people and by the comments I get I don't believe he does. The Rich Harper band from the USA are appearing with my own band The Blues Machine at the Phuket Blues Festival on 16th & 17th Febuary but they will also be performing a few gigs at The Blues Factory before leaving for the festival. They will be in the club playing on Monday 12th Febuary with The Blues Machine and on Tuesday 13th febuary with The Blues Machine and Lam Morrison, they willl be on stage from around 11pm both nights. Stop by if in town to see them as they will only be at The Blues Factory for 2 nights and they won’t be performing anywhere else in Pattaya. Check out the web

A bars only as good as its reputation, customer base and lease IMO. You can certainly look at upwards of 10 million for the bars you've mentioned. a gogo at 2 mill is either a shell, a complete loss or very small and in a dodgy location. (or of course the owner is skint or on the fiddle)

I haven't posted much as the barfine and ST/LT crap and doesn't apply to me or my bar, I though I'd let others have their say. I did this thread on Secrets and its up to 4 pages now but who knows maybe other bar owners are worried about upsetting other board members? I'm open to question though. Here are my gripes in my place- Customers that go across the stage to go to the Men's toilets. Customers that keep trying to get on stage with the band. People requesting the same songs all of the time (Lam Morrison ) Sound experts who harp on about how the sound isn't right (A sore subject)

If you mean the posts about girls wanting too much, bars not allowing barfines or customers not being allowed to take girls without paying barfines then yes that is invalid IMO. That isn't a part of customer relations IMO, the drinks and surroundings and whether you get value for money etc is valid though. Remember though I haven't got a gogo so none of these barfine/ girly related things matter to me to be honest.

Valid in who's opinion. I meant thats what I'd use reading alot of the stuff regarding Pattaya changing and barfines etc etc. Valid complaints will of course be taken seriously.

After lengthy chats tonight i promised I'd give the owners a chance to put their opinions forward. What are you're headaches and dislikes? Air them here and maybe ( ) they can be discussed with the "mongers'. PS I'm pissed now and going to bed but i will be putting opinions forward tomorrow. I reckon the 2 tier pricing has come about because of these topics, The owners do it so you guys think its a good deal, this gets me to my next point- Guys complain about 500 - 600bht barfines and some owners say OK after a certain time you can have a barfine at a discounted rate and i've still read some complaints? Shane's announced 400bht barfines which is good of him and now every one's singing his praises but are the punters going to spend time in there and have a few drinks! even by him one?..I would hope so but when I read comments like If your barfine is still that low when I ar

Anyone that thinks that 50 quid per night for the Marriott is a bad deal is full of it IMO. 3500 a night for the Marriott isn't bad at all and his price is 13 pounds a night under the Marriotts standard rate for a bog standard room.

Get a good lawyer on standby, if he's good then he'll get the info on whats going on. If you haven't got a work permit stay low for a bit. The shows and stuff that you've posted is illegal remember. The guys could have been from anywhere, revenue, licensing, labour dept, immigration, soi 9, city hall I don't believe any mafia stuff but your friendly neighbourhood bars might have thrown a spanner in your works?
