I remember when they tried to make it necessary to put yourself into the seat belt when climbing into the car. The upper part was attached to the door & you'd basically have to intentionally wriggle your way around it if you didn't want it strapping you in. Not sure why they did away with that design, but it seems to have gone the way of the dinosaurs.
