I stayed at the Areca just over a year ago It was nice except some farang guy threw himself ? was pushed ? over the balcony in the room above mine not a pretty sight - see my hotel review Also thats right about a safety deposit box being robbed Read it on here some time after Some guy had a few thousand dollars in cash can't remember amount robbed from the box Stupid to keep so much in a safety deposit box Cheers Tilacno1

I spent the last 2 nights of my August trip in Bangkok The very last night was the Queens birthday Luckily I had a TG from Nana Plaza from the night before and spent the time with her All bars in Bangkok were closed Nana Plaza was in total darkness first time I had ever seen that Just went shopping in Robinsons department store then got a bottle of vodka from Foodland and chilled out in my room with TG ;D ;D ;D I was lucky to find her the night before otherwise my last night would have been lonely Cheers Tilacno1

Have stayed at the Bay Breeze many times over the last few years and nothing untoward has ever happened And BTW there are no security staff on at night only one guy (sometimes ladyboy) at reception Cheers Tilacno1

Hi as an old timer in Pattaya the Baybreeze is an all time favourite with me Perfect location just off 2nd road but an oasis of calm from the mayhem outside Just across the road from the corner beer bar and near to Mike and Kiss can walk everywhere from there in central Pattaya OK recently the worn carpets were not so nice but great rooms great staff very guest friendly take as many girls to your room as you want Last few times stayed in the junior suites great value at about 800baht Great cheap breakfast as well Last time hadn't stayed there for 2 years but staff still remembered me from before especially in coffee shop Highly recommended if thay have renewed the worn carpets and lift Cheers Tilacno 1

Hi Paul I work in the Middle East and have flown Qatar a few times both to UK and Thailand Newish planes good service and lots of booze in the air between UK and Doha and Doha to Bangkok However Doha airport is dry so if you have 5 hrs there its pretty boring but no complaints about Qatar Airways Cheers Have a good trip Tilacno1

The Grace Hotel in Bangkok is and has been for many many years an arab hotel. Guests are almost 100% arab. There is even a shisha lounge where they sit around smoking shisha ( hubbly bubbly pipes ). Hence no reviews on this board! Girls frequenting the coffee shop belong to the minority of Thai BGs that go with them. Nuff said Not my cup of tea ::)

Scruffy AA Residence apparently opened in November 2001 Its almost directly opposite The Sportsman pub/restaurant.

The AA Residence Hotel is just up from the old AA Hotel on the opposite side of Soi 13 (take note Scruffy) and under the same management I stayed for 8 days in February 2002 see my review in hotel reviews - hotels over 1000 baht It was very nice with nice big new rooms I stayed in a junior suite for 1200 baht There is as mentioned heavy construction going on next door but after the first night moved to room on the other side and it was very quiet There is a really nice pool on the roof I never heard about anything been stolen from the rooms there are safety deposit boxes at reception I would reccomend it providing you stay on other side from construction I just got back from Pattaya and construction is still going on there and also next to the Haven I noticed that construction is going on in many Soi's in Pattaya right now so take care about hotel choice Cheers
