Hotel Reviews from my last trip - BKK and PTY
Tilacno1 replied to x4p3gsu's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I just got back a week ago after a 6 day stay at the Lek I found the staff unfriendly but not unpleasant didn't see any smiles from them I also stayed in the new wing our room was OK quite new but it was spoiled by the bed linen and towels they were very old and worn and threadbare Also you had to put towels in the bath if you wanted fresh ones There was also a sign you could put on the bed if you didn't want the bed changed First time i have seen this in Thailand Breakfast buffet had a very wide range of food both western and Thai but food only so so excellent value though at 95 bah -

I live and work in Abu Dhabi (although I'm Scottish) Last month I decided to try Etihad as they have 3 flights a week from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok I usually fly Thai or Emirates from Dubai I was very dissappointed They advertise as a the new National carrier of the U.A.E and set new standards of air travel Bullshit Very drab uniforms Black and dark grey Surly hostesses (mainly Australians ) Had video screens in seat backs but system not switched on Coming back here from Bangkok flight left Bangkok at about 09.30 Came round with breakfast about an hour after takeoff The Auss

Agree with Pieman no need for anything Unless your going upcountry to malaria infested areas Been going for 15 years and after the first couple of trips never take anything But if your going whoremongering then Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended Cheers Tilacno1 -

Soi 13 and Haven Hotel update
Tilacno1 replied to ROLAND's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks for the update Roland Stayed at the Dynasty Inn Soi 13 last time in February this year cos of the free ride from the Dynasty Bangkok I enjoyed it as its new and the staff were great like in Bangkok It was quiet then and had been thinking of staying again at the end of July but looks like I will have to give Soi 13 a miss this time Pity as I love the location-used to stay at the AA Residence before the Dynasty Is it affected by noise too ? Cheers Tilacono1 -
Carcareers Are you sure you're talking about the Diana Inn The Diana Inn is on 2nd road across from Mikes Department Store right next to the Apex on the baht bus route Only 1 pool last time I stayed there about 18 months ago and no security guards that I have seen never heard of any suites there either ?? I used to always stay there from about 1996-1999 it was great value then but moved on as it was going downhill I tried it again about 18 months ago when I had a problem at the Areca Lodge It was pretty crap Rooms worn pool dirty staff not so friendly as before Much better hotels no

Hi Etihad Airways are a brand new airline based in Abu Dhabi where i am currently working ( I'm from Scotland BTW ) They are the new national carrier of the UAE. They have only been operating for about 3 months and I believe have brand new planes I dont know anyone who has used them yet so can't comment on service They have been offering great deals Abu Dhabi - LHR and also Abu Dhabi -Bangkok so I thought they would have good deals LHR- Bangkok The flight will have a stop in Abu Dhabi but the airport here is nice very compact with a great duty free and there is a bar if your thirsty

Yes the Nana hotel charges half rate till 8pm but if you check out after 8pm they charge full daily rate I once fell asleep after too much sanuk and they phoned me at 9 pm and I had to pay full daily rate Cheers Tilacno1

"THAI no longer requires that you reconfirm your flight but please contact THAI to cancel your reservation if your travel plans change. Many airlines still require reconfirmation. If your journey includes a portion on another airline you may have to reconfirm onward journeys at least 72 hours before departure." I recently flew to LOS on Thai Airways The above paragraph is now printed on the inside of the cover page of the ticket I didn't reconfirm with no problems So you're wrong Crackpot Tilacno1
