  1. After going to the Art in Paradise yesterday, I asked my 'tour guide' where a good Thai BBQ is and would she like to go. We end up at a place just off 3rd Rd, about 1/2 a click north of Tony's Gym. You can see 3rd Rd., from our table. Sichuan Bar-B-Q Buffet Absolutely a great value for 199 Baht a person. We ended up getting 4 dishes from the area you first walk in at, they charge 25 baht per. We added the prawns, pork,Oysters and something else I forget now. So my 'tour guide' and I went to the back where she loaded up many plates to bring back to our table. Very enjoyable and I will return. Here is a sign that you see on 3rd Rd, pointing you to turn, it's above a Motorbike dealership, and a Family Mart/7 11 is across the street. It's open very late 575 baht for the two of us with only water for drinks. FYI: the rolled "crab" in plastic is actually a fish Pollock and it has a slight sweet taste to it, a different taste than I get back home in Ontario.

  2. I've eaten here 3 times. I promised the owner I wouldn't comment on the pizza(s) that I've had there. NY pizza house is my go to pizza place. He did try but his staff... (Yes, I know the irony here) Anyway, I did have and thought it was the best Angus burger I have ever had. It was the lowest price one and I had the fries done extra crispy. He does his own pickles and they were fantastic. I will go back for the Pastrami on rye that I haven't tried yet. I will go back for an Angus burger, they toast the bun which I like.
  3. I'll be doing my own walk about here tomorrow. Will stop in and find out for myself. It's the best way as they say.
  4. Well, in my marketing class many moons ago. We were taught to advertise with the best visuals possible for a business. If you can't, then it's best to just use your words.
  5. Wow, if that's your advertising of your best girls, I have seen better on Beach Road. Maybe a recruitment officer should walk it. Just realized it was a March posting. Must check it out myself in the next few days for a boots on the ground take of things.
  6. What's the alcohol content on Tiger draft?
  7. Just received 26.65 this afternoon from TT Exchange for CAD to Baht. 1000 given 26650.00 rec'd
  8. Hockey and this is just the female players!!!! Click
  9. It's what the dish is called though. I go over to Detroit to Mexican Village and all the restaurants have refried on the menu. https://www.google.ca/#q=refried+beans Here's more of your defintion from Wiki The name is a direct calque of Spanish frijoles refritos, refritos meaning "well-fried", and not "fried again" as might be assumed from the use of re- in English. The prefix re- could be used as an intensifier in Latin, as evident in e.g. resplendent, a meaning that has been inherited by Spanish alongside the more common meaning indicating repetition. In this dish, after being boiled and then mashed into a paste, the beans are sometimes then fried or baked, though usually neither, thus making the term "refried" even more misleading.[1]
  10. Flew China Air, would defo repeat.
  11. Can't wait to try this. Thanks for making that booking smooth. Also, for popping my PayPal cherry!!! I've just created a PayPal account so I could finish booking into Canterbury for the last 3 weeks of October. This was due to my recon of my first first. It's only a 5 min walk to Devils Den!!!
  12. Maybe not MM Biggest complaint I hear is that why do I have to pay what a book costs. I bought the Ereader to lower my costs. Yes I do know how old this thread is by the way!!! Click
  13. i actually contemplated one time to hire a motorbike taxi just to take me across the street!!
  14. To be honest, my mind wasn't on towels as a sexy naked woman was with me. When ever I've seen these swans mostly in Cuba there's still towels in the bathroom and the swans never are used. I'm just home sitting in my living room laughing that here I am talking about towels in Bangkok.
  15. Sadly, I wish i could say yes....lol
  16. So, I'm in Bangkok having just checked in to the Grand Mandarin Residence having left Pattaya around 1130 hrs. My first impressions to my 540 baht room is FANFUCKINTASTIC value for the baht. Clean very neat on the 9th floor bed and bathroom studio room (20CDN $'s was invoiced to my MasterCard) Free internet for me, however there are those that would have to pay I forget will find out and edit, however it's cheap Nam Taxi dropped myself and my lady friend off. Lady friend gave it two thumbs up for the cleanliness and for what I'm using it for. A flop pad for the night before flying out tomorrow. Check out time 1200 so by the time we leave it will be right off to the airport. One negative that's just been brought to my attention, no frick'n toilet paper. Thankfully this boy scout is prepared. One roll of Charmaine at your service my dear. Yeah just a bum gun. Not towels either (Edit: Seems there are towels). Didn't notice what the two swans with necks forming a heart were made out of our towels. Trust a female to figure that one out.!!! Hey for 540 baht as long as the Air Con works i'll sleep in a sleeping bag. For the address see link above. Parking no problem right off the street on ground level. So happy to book through Agoda, helping out the site and myself!!! I think I'll have a shot of special K if you know what I mean!! Special thanks to Fisherman & friend for the supply!!
  17. I have the same concern even in the city i'm from. the only way is to find out if your diamonds are marked by lazer, I'm not sure but all diamonds unless they are blood are lasered or marked in some way, just go to a jeweler and ask them to show you or photo id your diamond markings ( don't tell them you want work done) then get your work done. Go to a different one and ask about the markings you know should be there. The only way to lessen the odds of being switched is to stand and watch all process.
  18. What happened is this. I was downstairs having a cheeseburger/fries at the Capt.'s Corner basically the dining area by the pool at RG. I link through this site to Agoda. I pull the trigger on a room and now they want my phone number so I go to my room, get it. I forget my MC so I ended up having go back up. When I get back a gentleman and I end up chatting. Well the damn thing timed out so I resubmit and it's going to cost a whopping 3.50 Canadian more as I'm having Agoda bill me in CDN$'s and I say to this chap I'm going to do this later using the link in Pattaya Talk it's where I rec'd the better price. I think when I resubmitted it didn't pick up this web site and went strait through. So we discover that he knows Martin and Pin. I tell him I'm going there tonight to start my hunt and more than likely head to Hot Tuna for the house band. He says he and his brother are headed up WS later but don't know where they're going yet. At this point I don't know who he or is brother is and we say our happy mongering good byes. I went up to my room, went back into PT and redid the booking. Sure enough I receive the first price which was 3.50 cheaper. Why was I doing this for 3.50? To let you chaps on PT know it really will save you money as I have confirmed it...You're Welcome So my plan is to go to BKK for my last night and only need a flop pad for this. It's at The Grand Mandarin Residence. https://www.facebook.com/GrandMandarinResidence/ Located less than 17 km from Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Grand Mandarin Residence offers free private parking, free luggage storage and modern air-conditioned rooms with WiFi. For extra convenience, the property provides a 24-hour front desk and on-site cash machine. Sukhumvit Road is a convenient 25-minute drive away. A 30-minute ride takes guests to Don Muang Airport. Central Bangkok can be reached within a 35-minute drive from the residence. Spacious and air-conditioned rooms are equipped with a cable TV, telephone, wardrobe and desk. Hot shower is included in an en suite bathroom. Selected rooms come with a sofa, fridge and minibar. To unwind, guests can enjoy a soothing massage. A shuttle service can be arranged at an extra charge. Laundry services and an Internet café are available. A wide range of Thai cuisine can be savoured at Ta Mai Restaurant. So off I go by baht bus, and who do I run into but Pin..and some guy !!! Anyway Martin,Pin and I head to FLB. About half an hour later, in walks 2 chaps one being the guy at pool side earlier. So we say hi and he introduced his brother. Martin chats with them and a few minutes later the lessor intelligent one asks me if I'm on PT. I say yes and he says do you mind telling me you BN so I say Chester. He say I said that to my brother i thought it was you. Turns out Fisherman (the lessor intelligent one!!!) and his brother and I have been seeing each other but not speaking..I liked it better that way if I'm being honest!!! Well you have no idea the frick'n shinanigans we 4...yeah Fisherman's best mate from child hood is coming the next day and FM invites me to join them on a Gentleman's Club crawl so I accept half foolishly....man what a day sorry will leave it for my TR!! Martin and I and his mate from Australia whom I still owe 200 baht too ( well that's another shinanigan for my TR) leave for Agogo crawl.. I made it to 2 I believe could be 3 Martin feel free to correct me!! I bar fine this little firecracker at Crazy House. Turns out FM and his brother 20 minutes later BF's 2 from Crazy House. Tough luck lads as I left the 2nd and 3rd best looking for you 2!!!! Anyway are you glad you asked about the booking?!!!
  19. Just to help out with the board I used the link that is provided. I did receive a discount as I did it without the link from here and it was about 10% more. So thank you PT once again.
  20. Apology accepted.
  21. This is a Scotsman telling you, you're barking up the wrong tree mate. That red was there before i posted. Just so it's crystal clear I did not give you the Red.
  22. I liked the dark humour, when someone usually says something that's in the dark humour range....the reply is Too soon. It's not a dig. Well in Canada anyway
  23. That wouldn't work here as people would just think it's another Chinese tour group
