  1. Here we go.. Chevy Chase
  2. It ran like clockwork...very well done. I am not a fan of opening and closing ceremonies, but the events themselves were perfectly done from what I saw. It's also a relief that there were no security issues that spoiled the event...good luck or good planning, either way (or both), it was gratifying.
  3. We are on VACATION from jacko....you are replying to Bringing Out The Dead. Who was in VACATION?
  4. Randy Quaid
  5. Kevin Costner
  6. We're on Medicine Man, not Goodfellas. Regarding your advice, the rules are that you have to reply to the last movie or actor listed, not go back and answer something that has already been replied to. I don't think loosening the rules for your inability to follow a thread sequentially is fair to the other participants. Your answer is stricken. Medicine Man
  7. I think the phone was released 6 years ago. Truly ancient.
  8. I'd not want to be a Chinese businessman trying to close a deal on Monday.
  9. Just so I understand, what are you talking about?
  10. Bars open on Queens Birthday, Aug 12.

  11. If Thailand's Kaew Pongprayoon wins the gold (Light Fly Boxing) tonight (2:30am Thai Time), he will receive an estimated 100M THB from the government, the boxing association, and sponsors. It can be lucrative on the back end for the few medal winners, but for those who don't medal, it's an expensive effort that pays little back monetarily. I wonder how much the Chinese Gold winners get when they return home?
  12. Jamie, in his most recent trip report, said he rented a speedboat to take him to Ko Larn for 2000 after being initially asked for 2500. He rode out alone, and returned with half-dozen people after a day at the beach. I've never heard of anyone refilling the tank. I don't know where they refill or if it is convenient, not do I see the value in doing that. They usually don't charge directly for gas unless you change the agreed upon destination, that is, the gas is included in the price they agree to. I certainly hope Jamie's recent experience puts paid to the idea that they all charge by the person, require the boat to fill to it's maximum capacity, and that there are no other, more convenient options. Certainly for a small group, paying for the boat rental itself and hiring the boat privately is preferable....and it's usually between 2k and 3k to do it to Ko Larn.
  13. I don't know how it is handled in the UK, but in the USA, as opposed to China, Olympic athletes training is self funded. Two gold medal winners, the new America's sweetheart, Gabby Douglas, and Ryan Lochte, have bankrupted their families for their training and travel expenses. With their endorsements, all the sacrifices will pay off handsomely. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2183971/Gabby-Douglas-mother-filed-bankruptcy-months-Olympics-years-struggling-pay-daughters-training.html
  14. Another by the same writer Pulp Fiction
  15. That's one big block between Soi 7 and Soi 6!
  16. I don't think it's even GSM, so that's irrelevant.
  17. True Romance
  18. Can't do that..two replies in a row not allowed. Oh well, since jacko was ready to pounce on that, continue.
  19. Thanks for reminding me of that series. I enjoyed the early Bruce Willis's interactions with Cybill Shepard (sp?).
  20. Ok, jacko, that reminds me of BBC series i enjoyed immensely...Poldark.
  21. But I'd never watch it again. Too saccharine for my taste, and the thread is series you'd like to see again.
  22. Man on Fire
  23. Going further back, the western drama, Rawhide, was one the best of its time.
  24. American Psycho
