  1. Today's news http://www.bangkokpost.com/breakingnews/311126/warning-heavy-rain-flash-floods
  2. There were a lot of people complaining on FB about being stranded this morning from about 3:30am. FLB had an overflow from the roof of the building next door that ran into our roofing and into the bar. From the times I looked, it was raining pretty much all morning and early afternoon, though my observations were intermittent due to having to sleep.
  3. You know, it's coincidental that you asked yesterday. Late last night there was a major downpour that has turned into a long drizzle. The sky all day has been dark and grey. I don't recall any rains of that duration this calendar year. It looks like the start of the rainy season.
  4. 1AC for 3 bedrooms and other rooms seems a bit light on the AC.
  5. We had a pretty serious downpour tonight around 3 am..started a bit of fast flooding, but then let up. It was 51 weeks ago that Pattaya was inundated and many of the bars and gogos on Walking Street were flooded. I'm hoping we don't have a repeat this year.

  9. Bob, you're gonna get Regyai off on touristy types again Anyway, as I said earlier, a converter for 1000 watts tends to be quite expensive and heavy..at least, that's what I concluded at the time with my zero understanding of electrical technology.
  10. Figured you'd jump on that.
  11. It'd be great if steamer could tell us why he can't go to a restaurant/guest house.
  12. It's been 24 hours (thank God!) and this woman has been in a bunch of stinkers, but I found one that can get us back on track.... How to Commit Marriage
  13. What LocalYokul said below. It's not just the name of the movie, but the actual movie, whenever it was made. It has to be someone who was in the same movie as the previous answer. The rules are not written anywhere, but after 76 pages, they sort of evolved.
  14. I saw a really good deal on one at Bed, Bath, and Beyond during my nesting stage, getting set with all my favorite things to take back to Thailand. I bought it and then thought about the voltage difference. After a little reading of the specs and a bit of research, it turned out the thing required 1000 watts. Shopping for a transformer that would step down 220 to 110 I found one costing 3 times the price of the grill and weighing 3 times as much. I'm not an electronics guy.I thought initially one of those gadgets you use for shavers and phones would work. Hence the ordering from Australia.
  15. Yeah, mine got ruined by the maids cleaning it with iron cleaning pads.
  16. I've been told the place where they were seen was in Bangkok in Terminal 21, but not which store.
  17. Buzzzzz! Okay, still on Stepford Wives.
  18. Days of Thunder already done... Moulin Rouge
  19. Thread cleaned to stay on this very important topic.
  20. If you think STD testing is supposed to be funny, you're wrong. Taking swipes at general groups of board members seems to be your most frequent post style. Maybe you're not happy with the board's other members and should find one where illiteracy, poor grammar, and bitterness to other members you won't engage directly is more in keeping with your style.
