But, oddly enough, the Chang Beer promo sales guy came by tonight and said that every bar would have to pay an impost to show the World Cup games in the venue. It's similar to those music police guys. He said if we bought copious quantities of Chang products, there would be no extra charge. I told my manager to tell him to fuck off, but she (quite rightly) continued to speak with him. I'll try to get the story from her tomorrow as to what the "rules" are regarding showing World Cup games in a public place. Frankly, I think it's a scam, since UBC/True will show the games based on your subscription package, not on some silly paper license you can show to the authorities.

I've been seeing adverts on True that the World Cup will be broadcast in HD via UBC. Would a standard (pre-HD) UBC satellite receiver be able to pick up the broadcast and show it on a non-HD display?

Just come back from the bar crawl to Sois 2,3,4,5, where we left Honeypot Soi 2 at about 12:30 to go to Mistys for a drop in drink. The place was pounding. There were 62 dancers on staff tonight, and a fair number of them were in the bar when the bar crawlers got there. It is a tough scheduling issue, I agree. The FLB Bar Crawl is going to either Soi 3,4,5 or Soi 8, neither of which are convenient for Misty's. I'm not sure how we're going to manage this. For me, I'll probably be by after midnight.

What villa said. Nothing has changed, but you have somehow changed your DISPLAY MODE, which can be reset by clicking on the OPTIONS box on the right of the screen.

From my recollection, with the red plate and that log book that goes with it, the rule is that if you were to leave province shown on your red license plate, you are to go to the Transport Office out on HWY 36, and apply to drive elsewhere in Thailand, perhaps even listing your destination(s). I think that is what the line entries are in the book. And, driving after sunset is prohibited. I never paid attention to either rule, and drove to BKK at night a couple of times. TIT, though, so you could get pulled up if they started to enforce the rule.

If the Hotel has a bar, then that is part of the report on the accommodations. If something is seen and reported to happen in the bar by a BM, that is part of the information about the accommodations. Would you rather no one had mentioned this incident they saw with their own eyes? I don't think people are so stupid to believe that sort of thing happens everyday, but it appears to have happened, as it has been reported by two eyewitnesses on this board.
