I've been wondering if anyone has ordered anything off the internet overseas and had it shipped here. Can it be done? What can be received? I'm thinking of some computer equipment I can't get here and/or some tinned sardines in olive oil from someplace like amazon.com. Over 5 years here, and I've never tried it.

Never had them. I'll leave it to your judgment (oh, perhaps that's a big mistake) as to whether they are good. I'll only accept an unopened untampered-with box from you, however. No secret jizz sauce or other tricks.

If it's available here, I would gladly buy it. By the way, there is plenty of imported cheese available at Friendship market. Could you bring some decent crackers too?

I want to know where to get tinned sardines in olive oil...not tomato, not mustard, not pig sweat...but olive oil! I found them once at Friendship, but never saw them again.

I find Foodland to be pretty good for everything I like from the west, plus, their fresh meat selection is far superior to Friendship's. I actually shop at both. Sardines! I'd love to see a thread about them, where to get them, the tastiest packing juices. And, on top of that, where do you get good crackers that can take a load of sardines and oil without falling apart in your lap? Perhaps these threads should be in the Expat section?

Yeah, it must be a regional thing. We "Yanks" call the leaves cilantro, and the seeds coriander (seeds). They are two different products sold in two different sections of the market used for two different purposes. That they come from the same plant is immaterial when shopping or using them in a meal. Cilantro is to coriander what tomatoes are to ketchup. Same plant, not same product. Or maybe that's what you limeys think!

I sent an email to Mr. T from Narita asking for a taxi about 8 hours later. I didn't get a reply and nobody showed up. I don't know if that was because of the short notice or some other problem, but for the first time, I had to hit the taxi line. It wasn't bad. I got a tricked out minivan with a great sound system and a cool driver. 1500b

We did a forum software upgrade last spring, and it's been that way since. Every time we do a forum software upgrade, we have to twiddle with lots of settings, and this was one that didn't get twiddled.

Read joekicker's comment below. Basically, through the sarcasm, he's saying you got fobbed off by your IT department. There's no virus that would block secrets but not this site. But there are IT department screening tools that will block you from accessing sites that they presume (quite rightly, in most opinions) are not related to work. I'm guessing you can't get to secrets from work. That's your IT department's doing. If you can't get to secrets from some non-work site (say, an internet cafe or your home internet connection), then yes, you might have a virus. LOL.

BigD, you Luddite. Once a quote is included in a post, it becomes just more text that can be modified. You call that a security hole? You're just a laugh a minute. And, I too have noticed that you can't quite grasp the concept of the quote feature.

The Big Mama I know about was on the dead-end soi running off to the east of the east-side access road to Tuk.com. She was a black (American?) woman who sold ribs, burgers, roast chicken...good southern fare. But, she closed sometime in the last year or so. I don't know what happened to her, but her ribs were pretty good. As I recall, you needed to order them a day in advance so she could slow cook them all day. No waffles in sight.
