Does the Keerati Home Stay have a website so that I can check them out? It is located in the general area that I plan on staying on my next trip to Pattaya. I plan on trying the LK Metro but if it is booked I'd like to have other place as backups.

My take on the opening of the new Bangkok airport is that they will go ahead and open it on the 28th because of political reason. And that they will have tons of problems and be making excuses for the problems. I just hope they have at least some of the problems ironed out if I decide to come to Thailand in Oct or Nov. If the new Hong Kong airport could go not problem free after a year of testing when they opened. I cannot see how the Thai's believe that they can open their airport thinking that they will have less problems then Hong Kong with the little amount of testing they have done.

Aaaaaah! So what the gas mileage on that baby!!! I think that if I could even get that baby around the corner and down the street, what with that gas tank it has I'd be spending most of my time pumping gas into it!

Hanylek! I didn't notice a quote for the rates for any of the Diana apartments or hotels! Did I miss something? They look to be in the general location that I like for my next stay in Pattaya.

I've made a couple of trips to Thailand and I have brought my laptop each time. Now granted my laptop is an older model but it does have Windows XP loaded on it and I usually just use it to check my e-mail and resize pictures to e-mail back to the guys at home who could make the trip! Sometimes if I have a room that doesn't have an in room safe I just hide the laptop in the bottom of my 26" suitcase under all my clothen. I haven't had a problem yet! Knock on wood!!! If it were a newer laptop with all the bells and whistles I might think twice before deciding on taking it with me on a trip! But then again I guess I'd just take my older laptop!

The LK Pavilion studio rooms pictures on their website look very nice. It's also in the area I like. How long of a stay did you arrrange with them to get the rate you were quoted because I see on their website that they quote 20,000 bahts a month for long term? Of course, they are girl friendly?

I received an e-mail from Cathay Pacific about this flight! But now I've got to see if I can make time to go during that time spand! Let's see! Went to Thailand (Bangkok and Pattaya), Hong Kong, Macau and China for a month this past Feb and Mar. Then went to Rio de Janeiro in May for about 10 days. Hell! I got to see if my budget can take it!

Bangkok-The best 1000 baht hotel?
Owl_ replied to teelack's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
The Majestic Suites is the only hotel for me when I stay in Bangkok. Great rooms, free breakfast and outstanding service from everyone I have come in contact with while staying there. Locations is great and you have easy acess to the Skytrain to get around the rest of Bangkok to go sight seeing or shopping. I stayed at the Dynasty Inn for a couple of days one trip after coming back from Pattaya before catching my flight to Hong Kong and it's alright but now where near as nice as the Majestic Suites. -
In my last trip to Thailand, (Feb and Mar of this year) I spent a week in Bangkok and two weeks in Pattaya as well as a couple of days in Hong Kong with a side trip to Macau and ZhuHai, I was directed to the Custom area to be checked when I returned to SFO (San Francisco). But I believe that reason in my case is that I stated that I purchased jewerly while in Thailand when I filled out my form to declare what I purchased overseas. This was the first Customs agent who reads the form that you fill out while on the plane. I did purchase some in expensive sterling sliver sutff for family members. In any case, the Customs agent who searched my luggage was very nice, friendly and professional in what he did. We talked and he searched but didn't find the jewerly (or anything else that I had packed in the suitcase like the copy watches I got in Thailand!) I purchased so he just asked me to describe what I purchased and the amount I spent as he type the information into the computer. I had my laptop computer, digital camera and video camera with me but he never even asked to see them, but he knew I had them. I was out in a very short period of time. When I take a trip to Thailand, I always stop off in Hong Kong to see friends and check out the action in Hong Kong, Macau and this last time was my first trip to ZhuHai. I think that Customs have a little different mind set when they know you're are coming from Hong Kong instead of a straight flight from Thailand. I might be wrong on that but that's just the feeling I get on my return trips from Asia. Also my suitcase is usually packed with tourist type stuff which I always buy for my family members. I really look like Joe Tourist if you look at the stuff I have in the suitcase. I had Hong Kong Disneyland stuff packed in my main suitcase! But I've learned not to declare any jewerly when I return from any trip out of the country now!

When I was planning my first trip to Thailand a couple of years back I read up on forums like this on hotels and what they suggested. I finally settled on the Majestic Suities which is around the corner from Nana Plaza and Nana hotel (it can't be more then 100 yards from the Majestic Suities to the entrance to Nana Plaza. After doing my research and checking out the Majestic Suities website (www.majesticsuyities.com) I booked my stay there. I'm glad I did because it is a excellent hotel with quality rooms plus they are of course guest friendly. So when ever I come to Bangkok I stay at the Majestic Suities.

Each time I go to Thailand I go to the Weekend Market which is the Chatuchak Market. They say that there are over 7000 stalls/vendors at the market over the weekend. But locals have said that it may be closer to 8000 to 9000! This last trip (a couple of months ago) I found Thai cowboys there dressed in Levis, long sleeve cowby shirts and ten gallon hats (yes it was hotter then heck then). They couldn't of been over 5'3" either and they were selling "what else".... country western music cd's.

You only have to book two night for the Dynasty Inn in Pattaya to be able to use the free shuttle service from Bangkok to Pattaya. I stayed at the Majestic Suites and just went over to the Dynsaty Inn and booked and paid for my first two night for the Dynasty Inn in Pattaya to be able to use the free shuttle.

Majestic Suites is just around the corner from Nana Plaza and a superior single is 1350 bahts per night. A nicer room then the Dynasty Inn or the Nana. Girl friendly and you get a free breakfast with your room. Check out them on their website at ... www.majesticsities.com

On my last trip to Pattaya last year, while having dinner at the Lobster Pot, I noticed what looked like two restaurants out on the water.

Golf Programme - February/March 2006
Owl_ replied to doghaus's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
I get into Pattaya the afternoon of the 28th. Can an outsider come to the party? At FLB? Just wanted to meet fellow golfer when I get into town. I hadn't planned on bringing my clubs but I do want to play some of the golf courses during my stay in Pattaya. -
My question is are you going to be hobbying with the little lady next to you? I've only gone by myself so I've stayed at the Dynasty Inn and the Majestic Suites which are both close to Nana Plaza.
-
I stayed at the Dynasty Inn on Soi 13 last year and enjoyed my stay there. It wasn't noisy on my trip and like TexLeo says it much more quieter. This coming trip I'm going try stay at the Sunshine hotel and see what it's like.

Bkk Hotel sukumvit with sports channels
Owl_ replied to blink's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I recall seeing a lot of English football in the television during my week stay at the Majestic Suites last year. Being from the US I am not familar with the team so I cannot really say what I saw. I do recall seeing Arsenal and Manchester United a few time. At the MBK you can find team jerseys of some of your football leagues for little. I picked up a few for my nephews who play the sport in the states (we call it soccer there). -
Another place to visit! I don't drink so eating good food makes up for my lack of drinking. Gave up drinking because it was causing a problem with my stomach. TRhe alcohol does not agree with me.

Will have to check out that buffett at Hard Rock when I'm there. Thanks Soi7.

1,200 baht for taxi from bangkok to pattaya?
Owl_ replied to toom's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I've taken Owens advice and booked my ride with Jan and Paul when I come at the end of Feb. I read the comments about the service they provide and decided to go with them. I value good service rather then a cheaper price. -
Thanks Galt67! I'll check out the Starbuck's also. Of course there never are free!!!
-
I have eatten at the Lobster Pot and it is indeed very good. Costly by Thai standards but very cheap compared to the prices you pay for the same meal in the US. I'd be interested in a buffett place that has good seafood also.

Hey Zeus! It's good to know about the Thai Military Bank to cash travelers checks. Off hand do you know what their business hours are? With my travelers check I can better keep tab of what I am spending on my trip. When you use your ATM you can sometimes lose track of what you have spent with all the things going on you know. I carry ATM and cash as back up also.
