A stupid question from a Golf newbie - What does the distance from the equator have to with spin on the ball?

Anyone stayed in Lidobeach hotel ?
MrMango replied to Toppie's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I really liked the Estiny Residence Hotel on Soi 10. In November the rate was 1100 BT for 2 of us, including a slow broadband in the room. -
I am planning to live in Pattaya in January - My Tilac speaks almost no English, so I would like to take Thai lessons. Does anybody know what they cost,a nd where? Bill

Does anybody know how much it costs to get certified in Pattaya?

Sounds like fun - Can you tell us the details? Size of your boat? What you paid for it? Thanx, as this sounds like something I might like to do.

Cliver - While you did not say how long you will in LOS, I would advise to spend a few days in Bangkok when you arrive, or when you leave. That way you only have one round trip to Pattaya. IMHO, Pattaya beats Bangkok for mongering (I'm Straight, but I would assume also for Gay) as prices are a lot cheaper and transportation is much easier. You can pretty much walk anywhere in Pattaya, and Baut busses are about $0.25 U.S., and they are everywhere on the major roads. I also understand that Jomtiem Beach has a gay beach near Rabbet Resort, as well as the infamous Boys Town in Patt

I bought one for my last trip to Pattaya in November, and took it back for a refund when I returned to the U.S., as I was not happy with it. It was a Nikon that took great quality pictures, but it had 2 fatal flaws- 1 It was not rechargeable, and the battery's would only last 30-40 shots with flash. 2 There was a delay, up to 2 seconds when you pressed the button. This delay was not predicable, sometimes flashing immediately, other time taking several seconds, and on one occasion, not taking the picture at all.

Thanx guys for you help. I am trying to get a multiple entry 90 day tourist visa - They ask for a reference person in the U.S. and Thailand - is this some sort of guarantee? Also, does anybody know how many re-entry visas you can have? Hope to be there at the end of January, more or less permanently.

I printed out the Application, but it is from the U.K. embassy. Does anybody know the U.S. site for U.S. citizens (I am in Hawaii)? I am trying to get a 90 day visa for January..

Any direct bus from BKK airport to Pattaya
MrMango replied to phantomtiger's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
My Thai GF went with me from Pattaya to Bangkok to see me off,a and to relieve me of my extra Baut. She took a bus back to Pattaya for about 200 Bt. -
I've never had a problem finding a 'long haired translator' in Pattaya. Everyone that I asked loved to be BFind long time for a couple of days showing you the tourist sites. If anybody is interested, I will post a few pictures from my last trip.

You might try to book even a expensive hotel for a day or two, as I'm sure that you an find something when you are on the ground. I have forgot what time the planes arrive from Oz, but when I arrive from the U.S, it about midnight, and to arrive in Pattaya about 03:00 without a reservation seems foolish. The above worked for me.

I just went thorough my suticase from my last trip and I found a business card from the Eastiny Residence Hotel. The web site is: http://www.eastinypattaya.com/ This site lists all of their properties in Pattaya

Steve - The below link from the Hotels section lists the Estiny on Soi 8. This is the one that sent me to their sister property. You might email them for the other hotels details. I think that the Hotel is too new to make the reveiws. http://www.pattayapages.com/reviewpost/showcat.php?cat=4

Thanx for the advice finding the place. I bought a bunch of softeare, as well as an unlocked tri-band mobile. Almost as good as the one in Bangkok, but saves the trip.

lellexp I do not have a link, as my Teelack and I went looking for a hotel with Internet in the rooms. After stopping at several, the Estony on Soi 8 told us that they did not internet in the room, but their new hotel on Soi 10 did. As for the rate, I think that they charged me for 2 people, as my Thai GF negotiated the rate and stayed with me for the entire stay. I think it cost about 1000 Bt. with 2 breakfasts included. It was brand new and a nice place. It is next door to the Sawdee hotel. You might do a search for the Estony hotel on Soi 8 and email them to see if they hav

derrian I agree with Torranova. Stay in Bangkok. There are 2-3 areas where sex is in your face, but they are more or less obscured. In Pattaya, they are EVERYWHERE. Other than going bowling, go-cart racing, or other tame things. Sex is everywhere – on Autobuses, grocery stores, beaches, with young, good looking women who are willing and available for a small service charge.

stevescottcfi - I should have said that they had free broadband internet connection in the room. It worked fine, but the bandwidth was a little slow for my broadband telephone. It apparently is a shared ASDL line, and at busy times cannot support my phone (It needs 90KB of constant bandwidth). Soi 10 is a lot closer also than Soi 2

Never had a problem with an internat cafe using my laptop. I stayed at the Estonay Residences on Sol 10 (Brand New) with wired internet in the rooms.

As of last week, it is pretty much done, and quite nice. There are a few small holes here and there, but the biggest problem that I had was when it rained, their was no drainage most of the places, and you had a small lake there.

I took a picture of walking street, but I am unable to figure out how to post it (I am a picture virgin here) can somebody help me? Thanx

Thanx guys - I'm staying on Soi Buakaow, and I'm off tomorrow...

Hi Guys – Just arrived in Pattaya yesterday and the hotel has a very dodgy internet connection. I remember that somewhere there was a post telling about a new IT center where they sold software, etc. similar to Bangkok. Every time I try to search, the IP connection goes down… Can anybody tell me the topic, or know where in Pattaya it is? Thanx Bill

Thanx valentinoxxx for the email address - This is the one that I used also. Also thanx Nosrob for the website - I am going right now to check it out. The one thing that I saw was it did not list things as Internet Access, but I'll ask them in the chat section. See you guys in 8 days...

Soi7 - I do not mind prepaying for a night or 2, but I do not want to prepay for my entire stay, as I might want to move, and then have to hassle them for a refund...
