Pattaya Women's Open? they always are.

East coast? No problem. There's a cheap little flight, only one hour, from Trat.

You can put all the cslox dialup numbers into the dialup dialogue and it will try them all.

My TG got stomach pains and was in soi 4 Pattaya International Hospital for 2 days and the bill was 19,500 baht. That included a private room with electrically controlled bed, drips for 36 hours, doc, medicines and food. Enough.

I went there about a year ago to eat and wanted a beer and smoke at the bar first but they said 'no smoking'. Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick and they meant bj's.
-
Can't smoke in the downstairs area so they don't get my custom. Looks good though.

If, Gabor, you are wanting to compress a 650M avi file to 6M, a 1/100th, I don't know of any way to do that.
-
Here's the simple answer: STOIK Video Converter at http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/gmm/fwvideconvert.html halfway down the page. STOIK Video Converter enables you to convert ASF and WMV (Windows Media) video files to AVI or DiVx format. Just select the input file, chose the output format and quality from a drop menu, and click a button. It offers an integrated player for preview, as well as customizable output profiles. The program also comes with an option to automatically split the output into multiple, smaller files.

Thailand will totally screw up the rest of your life because after Thailand you won't want to go anywhere else except for the occasional curiosity trip somewhere and then you'll wonder why you went somewhere which wasn't Thailand. Go to Thailand now, there's nothing to lose and everything to gain.

This was true at Bangkok Bank between Suk sois 4 and 6 in bkk, but I opened one at Siam Commercial at soi 45 with just a passport while living in a hotel, and in Pattaya at SC by Tops when I had a condo lease.

unbelievable price for December flight. £439
bob2005 replied to johnson's topic in Airline Discussion
Bkk-Macau-Clark is a promising route with Tiger (hopefully) starting macau-clark at 1.55pm on October 30th - it's on their website now but I forget the price. Time bkk-clark is 7hrs40mins which is quicker than via KL/Sing and hardly longer than Bkk-Manila-taxi to Clark. At the moment Macau Air do macau-clark at 7am (or 12.35 noon on fridays) but that's too early to connect and they charge 8,000b. Bkk-Macau is 3,050b by AirAsia at 10.05am. Or overnight in Macau with a little roulette may appeal. -

Movie Maker writes, as you know, wmv to disk or VCD format to CDs which is mpeg1 and easy to convert to avi etc. But writing a CD is a long way round the houses. For my own purposes I don't really care what the final format is as long as it plays OK. If you have some reason to want to end up with avi/mpg I'll try to find something - when I'm sober tomorrow. It's a pity we have problems with VirtualDub which originally could make wmv's into avi's, perhaps M$ have changed the wmv format since VD 1.3c.

The Pattaya International Hospital in Soi 4 do a blood pressure check routinely every time you visit. Luckily mine is about 120/80. And I smoke and booze to unusual excess every day. But I don't add salt to food.

Gabor, I should have mentioned that the XP cd is SP1. It's XP Pro Corporate edition (120 baht!) but I don't know if that matters, I just lent XP Office (120 baht! good old LOS!) to a guy with Win98 and it worked!
-
Movie Maker auto installed from the XP cd to "C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe". Maybe you have it already. Very easy to use and versatile - grrr, I hate it when M$ software is good, I swear at XP often. VirtualDub needs to be version 1.3c or earlier, but agreed, it seems to find faults in wmv's - just hoped you'd have better luck than me.
-
You can edit, join and write VCD's of wmv's, avi's, mpeg's, gif's etc in M$'s free Movie Maker.
-
VirtualDub version 1.3c and earlier is supposed to do it. Then big bad Bill told the author to stop using M$'s patented format.

From isoHunt Forums: How to configure and use Windows XP built in Firewall Loads of folk seem to have a problem getting Windows Xp's built in Firewall to work properlly for them. In this guide I hope to explain how to configure it and show you it is actually quite good to use...... Although I would agree that Zonealarm and quite a few other 3rd party firewalls are easy to setup and use, they are missing some functionality that is useful to have - I had avoided using XP's bulit in Firewall until I got my XBox and wanted to use XBConnect to get online - it required a TCP and UDP port to be opened but Zonealarm couldn't open individual ports and I was forced into finding another solution.....here goes Windows XP Built In Firewall Enable the Firewall With Network Setup Wizard 1/ Run Network Setup Wizard (Control Panel-->Network and Internet Connections-->Setup) 2/ The firewall is enabled when you choose a configuration in the wizard that indicates that your computer is connected directly to the Internet. Manually 1/ Goto Control Panel 2/ Double click Networking and Internet Connections 3/ Click Network Connections 4/ Right click the connection where you want the firewall enabled 5/ Click Properties from the drop down menu 6/ Goto the Advanced tab 7/ Check Protect my computer or network 8/ Click OK Firewall now enabled on that connection Disable the Firewall 1/ Goto Control Panel 2/ Double click Networking and Internet Connections 3/ Click Network Connections 4/ Right click the connection to disable 5/ Click Properties 6/ Select Advanced tab 7/ Uncheck Protect my computer or network 8/ Click OK Firewall now disabled on that connection Open Ports in the Firewall 1/ Click Start 2/ Select My Network Places 3/ Network Tasks --> View Network Connections (Or right click My Network Places on desktop then Properties) 4/ Right click connection that you want 5/ Click Properties 6/ Select Advanced tab 7/ Click settings button (if it's greyed out you need to enable the Firewall see above) 8/ Click Add 9/ Type a name for the port your opening (eg. Napster : Port 6699) 10/ In name or IP address of the computer hosting this service on your network box type 127.0.0.1 *You can specify the IP address of an internal computer; however, in most cases, you use 127.0.0.1 11/ In external port and internal port boxes, type the port number - usually the same 12/ Select TCP or UDP 13/ lick OK 14/ Do this for each port to be opened Programs and ports used See HERE for a decent list. MSN Gaming Zone - TCP - 28800-29000 - UDP - 28800-29000 AOL Instant Messenger - TCP - 443,563 - UDP - none Crimson Skies - TCP - 28805,28801,3040,1121 - UDP - none Decent 3 - TCP - 1900 - UDP - 1900,2092 Diablo II - TCP - 4000 - UDP - 6112 Need for Speed - TCP - 9442 - UDP - 6112 Napster - TCP - 6699 - UDP - 6699 NetMeeting - TCP - 1731,1720,1503,522,389 - UDP - none Rainbow Six - TCP - 2346,2347,2348 - UDP - none XBConnect - TCP - 8602 - UDP - 8602 I'll add more as I learn them Hope you found this at least slightly useful.... I stayed in Nana for 5 months, paying the bills when they got over 20,000 baht. A few months later I stayed 2 nights on a visa run, was enthusiastically welcomed back by the reception staff, went to the room, made a local phone call and reception called and insisted I go down and pay 22 baht for the call. I said You're used to me running up bills of 20,000 baht, what's the problem. They said the bellboy decided I had a small bag so I have to pay cash on the nail. The bellboy for christ's sake. Well, they may have insisted with three different calls but I didn't go down for a long time, had a row with them (the old lady cashier who I'd cultivated before was sympathetic) and I won't stay there again. But everyone should stay there at least once, the amount of willing pussy around the lifts who need only a "c'mon" to immediately go fcuk you in your room is an eyeopener/education for a newby, it kinda sets you up with the right easy-go casual-sex attitude for the rest of your trip.

Quote: I have a friend of a friend of a second cousins ex roomie's boyfriend (puff) that knows a gal who's dad's brother, her uncle actually, that met a rude Brit once, really he was drunk at the time but nobody knew it at the time because he talked funny and all so Who gives a fuck? This is more than 'lol', some of you guys on this forum should be professional comedians! (er, I'm well oiled and have a slender, long-legged girl waiting for me)

A friend rented a detached house the other side of Sukhumvit from Pattaya and his neighbour had a big dog that barked all the time, drove him mad, but the man and dog moved after a few months, but that might not happen. The friend said the story kept running through his mind about the guy with a neighbour's noisy dog and when the neighbour was out the guy took it to the vet's and had it's voice box removed. When the neighbour returned he couldn't understand why his dog had suddenly gone silent. By the way, the same friend moved from the 25th floor of a Jomtien appartment block because of the noise of jet-ski's.
