  1. It's cool, Ghost. I'll test drive a few for you. ;D But when I've gone home [smiley=banghead.gif] [smiley=crying.gif][smiley=leaving.gif] , you'll still be there. [smiley=cheers.gif] chico, hot dog, grrrrrruff 8)

  3. Hey Ghost. Think you got your dates wrong. You mean 28, 29 March etc.? chico....
  4. Hey Andy. [smiley=newbie.gif] My first trip July 2001, stayed Flipper house soi7 and a good hotel. My advice is don't commit yourself to staying at either Flipper for the duration of your holiday. They are both surrounded by beer bars and you might feel uncomfortable passing these places and the prying eyes of the bargirls ( and who knows what advice they're giving your new companion ) when bringing one back to the room, especially if you're the butterfly type. [smiley=wink.gif] If this is so, stay maybe 3 nights while looking around other hotels, away from beerbar areas. This is my
  5. Well thank you Andy. Might just take you up on that offer. Be there a few days before you. Number 6. Nothing tastes better than a free beer( or 2). [smiley=gulp.gif] [smiley=gulp.gif] First trip to Thailand, your gonna love it. [smiley=1luvu.gif] My 4 favourite places in the world (in no particular order) are: Pattaya, Nana Plaza BKK, Soi Cowboy BKK and Yellowstone National Park Montana. Happy travelling. [smiley=cheers.gif] chico, woof 8) [smiley=zzz.gif]
  6. Hello Turbo. I've flown BA twice Sydney to BKK and QF many times to Manila. The main consideration are the timings that suit you. But if I had to make a choice, BA. BA has the individual seat back video screens. Audio entertainment on both are good. Main meals similar, but QF breakfasts were abysmal [smiley=thumbdown.gif]. BA crew more friendly. I'm easy to please. [smiley=gulp.gif] [smiley=cheers.gif] chico, air dog, wooof
  7. Upena. I stayed there about 4 days and my brief review is the one dated 13-Oct-2001. Only minus in the room was no shower curtain in bathroom so everything gets wet. No other complaints. chico, tour guide dog, wooff 8) ::)
  8. Gidday Tom. Another potential member of the Cheap Charlie Brigade? Welcuuuuuume. (Please, no offence intended). The Sawasdee hotels are in your price range. There are 5 in Pattaya, and all close to night time action: Sea View in Soi 10 near Beach Road. Court in small soi up from Soi Honey Inn. Pattaya Mansion, Soi Diana Inn. Mansion and Guesthouse, Soi Honey Inn. And the best is Siam Sawasdee on the corner of Honey Inn and Soi Buakhao. Give discounts for advance payment(no refunds) of a week plus. Reasonable rooms for the price. You get what you pay for. Sea View's bathroms are
  9. Hello Mr. Vegas. As the self-appointed chairman of the "Cheap Charlie Cause Committee" (aka. the triple C + 1 ), I stayed here for 3 nights in June. Of course this was purely for research purposes only. Unfortuneately I'm a rather inept chairman and forgot to take notes. But from memory, here goes:: About 200 metres from Beach Road. 350 baht for room 210, you get what you pay for. Didn't see the sea. Small very basic room. Open clothes hanging space just inside the door. Bathroom on left, small, have a bog and shower same time to save water. Small TV. ( remote? don't remember).
  10. Hi Flyboy. Yes, I did a short post about this place in March. Have since stayed there June and July. 8 minutes walk to NEP but motorcycle taxis just around corner from hotel on Soi4. Deluxe room 675baht or 645b per night for 3 nights paid in advance. Includes basic breakfast, eggs, bacon/ham, toast and coffee. The rooms are big enough for me. Aircon is quiet. TV has 5 or 6 channels including 2 that show English speaking movies. My only gripe, the floor could be cleaner. Restaurant is pleasant open-air with fans. Nice meals for around 100b. Nice small pool on the 5th floor. St
  11. Hello Bigbad. By my calculations, 7 return flights London/ Bangkok on QF or BA ( codeshare booking the QF flight number ) will get you a freeby. So if you have 3, 4 to go. As long as you travel at least once in a 3 year period, you don't lose points. Watch out for bonus points and point discounts. Last year from Sydney, got 8000 bonus by travelling in March to BKK. Also last year, flew Sydney-Manila for 42,000 instead of the then normal 60,000. Perhaps they have similar from London at times. Got to admit that the breakfast on both airlines is abysmal. I've had better on Sudan Air
  12. Dennis. I've done 4 return bus trips Ekkamai -Pattaya. The longest was 2hours 10 mins. But maybe the train trip is more scenic? BTW, I've also done the Cairo- Luxor- Aswan train trip. 1979. chico, down boy, woooff 8) 8)
  13. Gidday Clark. I've been around the world 3 times, Pattaya 4, Philippines 13, mostly alone. The only time I been mugged was in a quiet middle class suburb of my city. So, yes , go, no matter what. You won't regret it. Just use common sense. I almost had my pocket picked on a baht bus one night. So don't get too drunk and stay alert. Or find yourself a bodyguard or 4. There are thousands of lovely young ladies who would love to guard your body long time for a modest fee. :) :) Go to the FLB member meetings. You'll meet people that could become lifelong friends. (BTW, is
  14. Bay Breeze Hotel. baybreeze30@hotmail.com Tel.& Fax... (038 ) 428383-4, 429137, 421314. chico, out, woof.
  15. Agree with Papa. I was there 2 weeks in June. The 499baht includes breakfast. It is ideally located. A few steps from Second Road. Straight across 2nd Rd is a bar area. Turn left 2nd Rd, a few yards past the Apex is a bar with a lot of girls. About 10 mins walk further to the Pattayalands. Turn right 2nd Rd and a few minutes walk to Sois 9,8,7. Or turn right out of the hotel to Soi Buakaow, then left past the Sawasdee Hotel is the Cupido bar complex. Excellent value. Great location. I'll be back. chico, memories :'( :'(, wwooooooff 8)
  16. 7.37pm Tuesday Pattaya time I'm the only member on line. Where are the other 1870...members? chico, lonely dog, hoowwwrrr. 8)
  17. Hi Defwez. Just thought I would add to what Dennis has posted. I stayed Apex March and agree rooms are fine. 2 things I didn't like: The strict female guest Id policy. No separation in toilet/shower room. I've just moved in to the Bay Breeze Hotel, round the corner from Apex, and prefer it. A nice bathroom with bath/shower, not unlike those at the soi 7 Flipper Hotel. The special rate now is 499 baht including American breakfast. chico, super horny hound, wooooooff 8)
  18. Hi Piet. Right now I'm sitting in a internet place in Khao San Road, Bangkok. arrived Friday morning from Sydney. Met Miss Perfect friday night at Sukhumvut Soi 10 bar but she still recovering from a broken heart so not go with me. I'll give her one more chance to be my wife or I'm off to Pattaya tomorrow. Soory can't help with any other Honey Lodge info. cheers, chico, wooooof, 8) :)
  19. Hello Piet. Honey Lodge might suit your budget. On South Pattaya Road, close to the beginning of Walking Street. Check the reviews section. Have fun, chico, happy hound ,wwoooff :) 8) :P
  20. Hi Kerbushar. Just back from Thailand :'( :'( :'( :'( Anyway stayed at Woraburi Inn on Soi 4. ( part of the Sawasdee chain). It's 8 minute walk from NEP on the right. 450 baht for deluxe room.(rates maybe up soon). Rate room slightly below Dynasty at less than half the price. Good value restaurant. Great value. I'll be back. chico, a sad dog, wooooooooff 8) 8) 8)
  21. Harvey, I hope I'll be doing the horizontal lambada in the mornings but so far I don't have a good record with my choice of dancing partners. First trip, only 3 out of 8 were worthy of a morning performance. ::) ::) It can only get better!! :P Best wishes chico, the dancing dog, woof 8) 8) 8)
  22. Re the beer bars close at 2 am, so what time could one get a drink at a beer bar after the sun rises. Any early openers for an aperitif prior to breakfast? cheers, chico, thirsty dog, woof 8) 8) 8)
  23. Thanks Bob. I just found the photos in the "members photo" section. Didn't realise that this and the gallery were still separate areas. Kahala, the original home page from the old board is still there. Appears after entering my password. chico, gggrrrrruff 8) 8) 8)
  24. Hi guys. Better not bring too many guys next time. Leave some at the station to protect the citizens. Under what name are the photos in the gallery? chico out, ggrrrrrrruff 8) 8) 8)
  25. I don't think you guys understand what Dano is asking in his own cryptic way. It's obvious to me. He's inquiring if anybody wants to share his flights to and from Bangkok on Thai Air ( ie: TG being the airline code). Well, what else could it be?? :D chico, ggrrrrrufff 8) 8) 8)
