  1. Good to see the place back up and running. See you tonight! Cheers! LF
  2. Here's what I did. 1) Buy a company. It has to be registered with 2 million Baht capital but doesn't have to actually show that money in a bank account. 2) You will need Thai shareholders. These can be spouses, relatives or friends of your lawyer. They probably won't even exist. 3) When you have your company registered, you can then apply for your non- imm B multi entry visa 4) once you are here - register the company address 5) Apply for your work permit. You must employ 4 Thais for every foreign WP. Again, these people may or may not exist BUT the labour dept do sometimes check your premises. 6) Your job is to be something such as a Foreign liason/consultant 7) During all this, which can take 3 months. You will be establishing your business but I would advise against being seen to actually do any work. 8) You will have to pay tax on a 50k monthly salary for every WP and tax and social for all your employees. You will also have to pay company tax every 6 months. Its hard going and you will be given all sorts of conflicting advice. GET YOURSELF A GOOD LAWYER AND ACCOUNTANT who is either foreign or speaks excellent English. DO NOT trust any one piece of advice (Even mine!). Always double and triple check with numerous sources. The only way you will learn is when you have been here a while and made your own mistakes. It can be done but you must be prepared for many frustrations and quite a bit of cost. Good luck and take it slow. Cheers LF
  3. I wish she feared my cruelty but she knows I'm a soft touch really! Mate, this school is in Pattaya. I can't help you with Bangkok I'm afraid.
  4. My 10 year old step daughter is at Satit Udomseka, near Soi Tanman on the East side of Sukhumvit. It's a kind of International school in that they have a good English program and many foreign children there. facilities are great and the teachers seem to know what they are doing. You will hear some bad things about the place but my kid seems very happy there. I pay 28k Baht for 1 semester (About 6 months) and then you can also pay an extra 10k for a private mini bus to collect and drop off. Uniform is about 2.5k but there is no extra charge for other supplies or food. If you want the Special English program then the cost was around 52k per term. I like the place but I've told the brat that if her English doesn't improve this term then I am going to dump her into a state school! Cruel Bastard that I am!!!
  5. We'll be there mate. I popped down to the bar yesterday afternoon. (I tried to call you but it was only 5pm, so you had probably only just got to bed...) Its looking good there. More space than the old bar and a great location. I'm sure you will do well there. Cheers! LF
  6. After faithfully serving Manfred, Ray and, more recently, Russ at Shooters where I turned up on time for 1 night a week and sat on my arse for 7 hours drinking beer and vodka and occasionally getting carried home by the staff, I have suddenly found myself facing my final night at Shooters. Apparently, rumours of my imminent departure have already seen nightly takings increase quite dramatically… Removing my tongue from my cheek, this is my choice as I have been offered a new opportunity which means I am going to be working 9-5, 6 days a week. Christ, that’s going to be hard!!! Having contributed very little but received a bellyful of benefits, I would like to thank all at Shooters for a great time and also to all the customers and friends who have made every night I have “worked” an incredibly entertaining evening, each and every time. My last night will be this Sunday, the 30th March and I will be shouting a few drinks for friends and guests who like to “hang”. Hope to see you there. Cheers! LF
  7. Just a quick reminder about the Networking night tonight. All are welcome, even if you just want to discuss the latest property market. Also, I expect the latest WALKING STREET JOURNAL to be available tonight as well. See you there! LF
  8. Nice to meet you on Sunday. Sorry we didn't make it to Cherry. The beer overtook me and I had to make a rapid exit before I passed out! I look forward to coming in for a beer later this week. Cheers! LF
  9. Every month Thailand Homes & Condos Magazine holds a networking party at SHOOTERS in Soi Diamond. The next one is this Friday 4th April 6.30pm to 8.30pm. So, if you are in any way involved in the property market here, then you are more than welcome to come along and enjoy some free food and free HOT OFF THE PRESS Thailand Homes & Condos Magazine. Also, if you would like to meet some brokers or developers to discuss buying or selling, then you are also more than welcome. See you there. Cheers LF
  10. I've heard quite a lot about this mamasan and none of it is good. Thanks for bringing the situation to our attention. LF
  11. Hi Guys, I just wanted to remind you that me and my colleagues are here to help you with any and all property matters in Pattaya and other areas of Thailand. We concentrate mainly on sales but also have a number of contacts for long term rentals and we are soon to expand our holiday rentals listings. I have also had a couple of new launches this week and recommend taking a look at them as they are good prices and great locations: The first is 4 buildings in Soi Watboon at the south end of Jomtien. Although a sea view is unlikely apart from the top units, they all come FULLY FURNISHED which makes them ideal for renting. They are all 38 m2 studio/1 bed but you can easily put 2 or even 3 together to improve the size. The project has all the usual facilities and has an incredible swimming pool that extends all the way round the buildings. The 1st phase will be complete in 14 months with the whole project finished within 2 years. At the moment only the lower floors are available and these are selling for a bargain pre-launch price of only 1 Million Baht per unit (1.2 Million Baht if you want it under foreign ownership). The second one is Sunset Seaview Residence which is a brand new project set in the secure and popular area of Pratumnak Hill close to Jomtien, Pattaya centre and a lovely local beach. Each of the 50m2 units has a private balcony with 180 degree uninterrupted sea views and because of local restictions, there will never be any construction in front of the project. The project will have all the facilities you would expect including a courtesy shuttle bus and magnificent swimming pool. This is a fantastic opportunity to aquire a top rated unit at pre-launch prices and we strongly recommend contacting us for more information before the price increases. For any more info on these or anything else in the area then send me a PM or view the website HERE Cheers! LF
  12. Cheap town house to rent in Soi Khao Talo. Near 7-11, English bars, market etc. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, off road parking, small garden area, Thai Kitchen. Fairly basic but has a lot of space for the money. Some furniture available. Available on a 6 or 12 month rent contract. Good landlord - no hassles. 12k per month ONO. PM me for further info. Cheers! LF
  13. Hi I am moving house and have a load of stuff that needs throwing away. Is there a public garbage dump in or around Pattaya? Never seen signs for one and Lady Flash doesn't seem to understand the concept... Cheers! LF
  14. Guys, Tomorrow night - 8th November - is my last night at Shooters, Soi Diamond, for a while as I have to take a short break back to sunny England. So, if you are in town, pop in for a beer or 3. I'll be there 7pm till at least 2am. Cheers! LF
  15. The latest edition of Thailand Homes and Condos will be hot off the press and available free tonight at Shooters bar, soi Diamond. So come along at 6.30pm onwards for some free food and happy hour beer, meet the lovely ladies and some not so lovely real estate professionals! Cheers! Adam
  16. Hi Guys, I know this coincides with Wish Puffs party but hope some of you can pop in to Shooters to say hello. We are having a party to continue celebrating me being another year older. There will be food as well as hot tottie and cold beer! Come and check out some of the new girls! Hope to see you there Cheers LF
  17. I am planning to join you at some point but I think the Mrs may have some plans for the daytime. I'll see what happens....
  18. Its my birthday on Thursday so I will be having a few bevvys down at the Cherry bar on Soi 8. Not having a party as such, so no food or music, just a bit of a get together. So, if you are in town, then please join me for a beer or several. Cheers! LF
  19. Getting a line is a real pain in the ass. Start reserving now and it might be ready in Feb/March!
  20. Just got back from samui. Chaweng was busy but mostly Slackbladders and not your regular beer bar clientele. The late "trendy" bars and clubs were doing good trade. I can't really see another beer bar being very successful there IMHO.
  21. Cheers guys. Drove to Bang Laem and it was about 4 hours each way. 200 baht for a guy to fill in my forms and escort me around. 1000 baht for the Cambo visa. Another 100 baht for a stamp (not sure why?) and 100 baht tip for the guy who helped me. Total - 1400 baht plus fuel at about 600 baht so say 2k total. This makes the visa run agencys really good value at 2-2.5k but it was nice not to have to get up at 6am. I left at 10am and was back just before 6pm. Cheers LF
  22. Thanks guys. Just woke up with a stinking hangover and am on my way to lovely cambodia!
  23. Hi All, I live here and have a multi entry non Imm B visa. I have done visa runs to Cambodia with 1st Class before. I just got a reminder from my accountant that I have to go again before my entry stamp expires but, having just returned from Samui, have not had time to book with 1st Class. I have a car and think I might do it myself tomorrow but I am not sure if I need any other paperwork. Anybody done the run on their own? Any advice? I don't want to get a 7 day extension as I would then have to renew my work permit for 7 days only as well and that is a pain in the ass. Cheers LF
  24. 038 720 446 Don't worry he'll be back soon but the cashier should be able to take your booking. Cheers LF
