  1. OK Bob - I have you down for the Catz Open. There is a handicap limit of 28 for the RideHer Cup but you are very welcome to enter and play off 28. There are a number of players who have PSC handicaps in the 30's or have no handicap at all who are prepared to play off 28. It is a pairs event so it is not that much of a penalty to play of a lower mark than your official handicap. Up to you if you want to enter. Doggie
  2. Still some places left so keep the entries coming in. Doggie
  3. OK Guys. I have added you to the entries. Doggie
  4. What trophy is that Gren????? Surely the RideHer Trophy hasn't been on another world tour? We need it back in Pattaya on 5th November. Doggie
  5. No problem Gren. Just leave it with me and I will choose one for you. It will be a nice surprise at the airport! You trust me dont you? Doggie
  6. Hacker Eva have a 20kg limit including clubs. It really is hit and miss whether they impose this or not. All depends on how busy the flight is. Your best bet is to call them and try to get confirmation that they will carry your clubs without charging excess baggage. Doggie
  7. For the last 2 years, I have organised a golf excursion in November. In 2004 we went to the River Kwai area and last year it was Chiang Mai. For the 2006 golf trip I am proposing that we go to Phuket – a fun destination with some top class courses. The plan is to depart on Sunday 12th November and to return to Pattaya on Thursday 16th November. Here is an outline programme for the golf trip: Sunday – Fly from Utapao airport direct to Phuket. Stay 4 nights in Patong Monday – Golf at Loch Palm Golf Club Tuesday – Optional round at Blue Canyon Country Club – Canyon Course Wednesday – Golf at Mission Hills Resort. Thursday – Return to Pattaya I am recommending we stay in Patong because there are plenty of bars and restaurants. The golf courses are all within 40 minutes drive and there is plenty to do in Patong for the non-golfers during the day. I have only included 2 rounds of golf in the package because some of you might like to take a day to visit the surrounding islands. I will be pleased to organise this – we have a reliable company that I used on my last trip. I am budgeting around 20,000 for the golfers. This includes: Hotel accommodation Return flight from Utapao – I will charter an aircraft if there are enough of you. All transfers Green fees and caddy fees Right now, I need to know who is interested before I make any bookings. Please let me know before the end of August because I will need to organise the flights. I also need to know if you want to take a girlfriend or wife with you. I will need their names to book the flights so you might want to think carefully about that! Last minute additions or name changes will be impossible. We will also need to have advance payment. This will be done through Solar Golf (Thailand) Ltd. Can you also please let me know if you will want to play the optional round at Blue Canyon. Phuket is a more expensive destination than Chiang Mai or River Kwai but I am hoping we can keep the costs around 20,000 baht for the package. The final price will depend on the numbers. Who is interested in this trip? Remember to post before the end of August if you want to be there. And don’t forget to let me know if you will be taking a guest with you. Doggie
  8. The Catz Open Golf Tournament will take place on Thursday 9th November 2006. We will announce the venue in September – it will be one of the top courses in the Pattaya area. Those of you that have played in the competition in previous years will know the format. It is an individual Stableford competition played with full handicap allowance over 18 holes. There is the prestigious Catz Open Trophy for the winner. The previous winners were Dunghie in 2005 and Deuce in 2004. I am sure they will both be back for this year’s competition! Additionally, there will be prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive and a few special prizes that will be up for grabs. This is a fun event where the party in Catz is always a riotous occasion. There will be lots of food for the golfers and their guests followed by the prize giving and lots of drinking. For those of you that are not familiar with Pattaya, Catz a GoGo is located in Covent Garden – just off Walking Street. You can find their web site at Catz Website. Your entry fee of 2,500 baht is all inclusive of: Green Fee Caddy Fee A buggy share Transport to and from the golf course A Catz polo shirt The party and food All you have to pay for at the golf course is the caddy tip. To register your entry, please reply to this post with: Your board name Your official handicap (if you have one) Your polo shirt size S/M/L/XL/XXL/XXXL You should also PM me with your email address. Transport will depart from and return to the Residence Gardens Hotel on the road between Jontiem and Pattaya. It is directly on the baht bus route and known to many of you on this board. You will need to pay your entry fee in advance. You can pay at Catz a GoGo or directly to Solar Golf – the organisers. Please reply to this post letting us know that you want to register. I look forward to a great event and a lot of friendly competition.
  9. I am sure Tony will help you out. He and his team are doing a great job on a complicated property ownership issue for me. I highly recommend them. Doggie
  10. Poochai You might find it more cost-effective to have a company that is already registered here take the response from your advertising. This would save you all the hassle of setting up a Thai company and then getting a work permit. If you have a non-immigrant B visa and you own or work for a company outside Thailand, you are entitiled to "investigate business opportunities" on behalf of your overseas employer. If your company is registered outside Thailand, then it would be perfectly legal for you to appoint a Thai Company as your agent to advertise and handle the sales leads. In my opinion, you would be acting within the limits of your visa if you were offering guidance to your Thai agent while you are in Pattaya as long as you do not work for them. If you need advice, then I recommend that you contact justtony on this board. He works for an excellent law firm and he should be able to help you find a compnay who could act as your advertising and sales lead handling agent. Just another approach. Doggie
  11. I am pleased to announce that the 2006 RideHer Cup will be taking place at Burapha on Monday 6th November. This is the 5th RideHer Cup and it is going to be the biggest and the best! With the scores tied at 2 wins apiece, both teams will be trying their hardest to get in front in the series. And let’s not forget the legendary party that will take place after the golf with the prize giving and a lot of fun at FLB Bar. Martin is arranging an Italian buffet for the party and I know this will be a top spread! And we will be setting aside a proportion of the entry fee to make sure that the FLB girls are sufficiently fuelled to cast aside all inhibitions! You can read all about the RideHer Cup HERE. And you can download the video that Pete made of the 2005 RideHer Cup VideoIt is a team event played between the USA and Europe supported by our Australasian friends who are more than happy to play for either team! We have room for 48 players this year so you need to get your registrations in early. Priority will be given to those of you that have played in previous years and the rest of you will be first come first served! To pre-register, you need to post here with the following information: Your board name Which team you wish to play for – USA, Europe or don’t give a damn! Your handicap – if you have one Your polo shirt size –S/M/L/XL/XXL/XXXL You also need to send me a PM with your email address. The event actually starts on Sunday 5th November at 8pm at FLB Bar. On the Sunday night, you will need to pay your entry fee and then the Captains will draw the teams. If anyone cannot make it to FLB on 5th November, you need to let me know in advance so that I can make sure we keep your entry. If there are no shows on the 5th, we will allocate the spare entry slots to any last minute golfers that turn up on the night. If you need hire clubs, please send me a PM at least a month before letting me know if you are left or right handed. I will get you the best clubs I can but please don’t ask me for brands or special designs. Let’s get your entries in ASAP and I will post a running tally of the players as the event approaches. This is one of the biggest events of the year in Pattaya so lets all look forward to a hell of a match and a great time!
  12. Hi Sailfast I will put you guys down for RideHer on 6th and then Catz on 9th if that is OK with you. The polo shirts are up to Martin but I will have a chat and see if we can come up with a discreet design. Maybe a large pair of tits on the front and a slogan on the back saying "My balls went deep in the rough" would be appropriate? Leave it with me. Doggie
  13. Hi Willys Good to hear you will be around at the time of the RideHer Cup. I will be posting full details about the tournament including how to register next week. We can sort out rental clubs for you - that can be done if you let us know at least a week before the event. Regarding your handicap, can you please send me your last 4 scores if that is possible. I need to know the yardage of the course as well. I will then estimate a handicap for you. Cheers Doggie
  14. Marz I am back in UK so I wont be around for a game in mid-July. However, there is another thread on the board where some guys are looking for a game. Once you have got together, send me a PM and I will give you the number to call us to arrange tee times and transport. Cheers Doggie
  15. Moonlight Hill Condominium on Pratamak Soi 6 has just opened. They have studio units for rent at around 22,000 per month. Very nice development of 30 units and on the baht bus route. Nice and quiet with a pool. I will post some pics soon but please pm me if you need me to email you more info. Doggie
  16. Mike I look forward to seeing you and Vic again. The Europeans might have some plans to wrestle the Cup away from you guys this year! Doggie
  17. What? The RideHer without our Norwegian big swinging dick? Impossible! Surprice - you have to get your sorry ass back to Pattaya in November or Wi will never talk to you again! And we look forward to seeing you Soft Rabbit. Doggie
  18. Golfer 2426 We will be pleased to welcome you to the November Golf programme. Just keep watching this board for registration details. Dungheap Maybe JAL will fly you back first class to defend your trophy? Doggie
  19. Thanks Guys. Keep em coming! Doggie
  20. Hi Deuce The Catz Open is scheduled for Friday 10th November. Hope that helps you finalize your trip dates. Doggie
  21. RideHer Cup 2006 - Burapha on 6th November The 2006 RideHer Cup will be taking place at Burapha on 6th November 2006. I need to know when you guys and gals will be arriving in Pattaya so that we can schedule some golf events in late October and November. We did this last year and it was a big success. The plan for 2006 is to have at least 3 additional competitions, including the Catz Open, between 23rd October and 19th November plus a road trip. The 2005 trip to Chiang Mai was great fun so we are looking at a road trip again this year. I will be posting the options on the board so that you can let me know your preferences. Please post your arrival and departure dates in Pattaya so that I can schedule the competitions for dates that will be practical for the maximum number of golfers. Thanks Doggie
  22. G'day Norsey I am sure there will be some guys in town at the same time as you who will be up for a game. August is generally a quiet month for the golfers so I wont have any competitions running. But we will sort out a few rounds for you with pleasure! I have sent you a PM with my local number. Or you can drop into FLB and Martin or Keith can usually raise me or our local golf rep. I am from Glasgow originally. One of the regular golfers, Deuce, is a Carlisle man. he will be here in June so I guess you will miss him. I look forward to meeting you. Doggie
  23. Mescalito I have been waiting patiently for the photos! It took all of 17 holes and a fair few Asahis before we finally saw a 7 handicapper with his breeks round his ankles! Let's see the evidence! Doggie
  24. Sailfast The 2006 RideHer Cup will take place on Monday 6th November. The venue this year is Burapha. There is some information on the FLB Bar web site and I will be opening a topic here in the next few weeks for registrations. I don't think that Loy Krathong will affect the entries. It might enhance the registration evening on the Sunday. Look forward to meeting up with you again in Pattaya. Doggie
  25. Dungheap is spot on - 200 baht to 300 baht is the norm. There are some exceptions at Phoenix who have been known to receive a cellphone and their rent money in return for services rendered on a consistent basis! But you would need to ask one of the locals for the right caddy numbers! There is a rumour going round that you should always select a caddy wearing lipstick if you want a bit of fun. Doggie
