  1. Deuce The post of a true genius! I laughed my arse off at the one about the Aussie trophy cabinet! Somehow I fear we will pay for that one come the international Texas scramble! Doggie
  2. Not so fast boys! The entries have now closed with a round number of 48 and two on the wait list. We had 4 guys from the USA register today, all with handicaps in the teens. The European captain may need to call on the services of our colonial Bangladeshi friends after all. I will be doing a final count up as soon as Bertie has revealed the identity of his mystery golfers. If everyone who has registered shows up, I will need to scratch our USA golf pro and declare the event for amateurs only! This will allow all the guys who have registered the chance to play! Doggie
  3. The entries for the RideHer Cup have now closed with 48 players registered and two on the wait list. If you want to go on the wait list, please post on the RideHer Cup entries thread. If there are any drop outs, I will promote players from the wait list to registered entries. All registered and wait listed players should be at FLB at 8pm on 6th November. I will take entries from registered players first. Any places that are available at 9pm will be offered to players on the wait list in the ordet that they applied. If you had entered but failed to confirm before the entries closed then you will be first in the queue on the wait list. Doggie
  4. Thanks for the fast response Golfer Mike. I am sure I will fit you guys in as the final entries. The RideHer Cup entry list is now closed. If anyone else wants to put their names down on the waiting list, please post here and I will inform you if anyone drops out. You should also plan to be at FLB on 6th November at 8pm. I will take entries from the registered players first. any spaces available at 9pm will be allocated to those players on the waiting list who are present. Doggie
  5. Golfer Mike Can you please let me know: Nationalities Handicaps Shirt size Will do my very best to fit you all in unless you are from USA with single figure handicaps! Doggie
  6. We have 46 registered so far. Get your names down. I can't confirm all 4 of you now but there may be some drop outs nearer the date. make sure you come along to FLB on 6th November. There are a number of other golf days so please get your names down for them as well. November Golf Programme Doggie
  7. Bertie 707 has added some players to his group so we are now over the 40 mark. I have increased the number of tee times so that we can now accomodate a maximum of 48 golfers. All the golfers who have registered on this board will get priority when I take the entries on 6th November. You need to be at the party and pay your money to be a confirmed entry. If you have not made your entry by 2100, I will take non-boardie entries and you might lose your place. So please check the entry list on this board and let me know if your name is missing. RideHer Cup Entries Only 3 1/2 weeks to go! Doggie
  8. Hilly Oh what music to my ears! Sweet revenge for the roasting you and I suffered at the hands of the 2 Rs recently. Sounds like a high stakes game when the loser gets banished to Cambodia! Give my congratulations to Tony for a carefully executed final shot. D'Artagnan would never be favourite when standing over an 8 footer after a session! Doggie
  9. Hi Bertie Sounds like you have a big gang out there! Right now, I have 3 of you playing in the Rideher - yourself, foursome frank and bald baz. Are you asking for 5 more places or 8 more places? The number of total registered players is now up to 40. I am sure we can squeeze in a few more. I will try to add a couple more tee times on the back of the group on the basis that we guarantee the course that we will play quickly. If I can't get those, we can reduce the interval between tee times by one minute on each starting tee and that will get us there. That will open up 8 more places. What I will need from you are some pen names for the guys that want to play in the RideHer and which other days each of them want to play. Right now, I will book you 8 places on each of the golf days. I also need their polo shirt sizes asap. It will be great fun having your group in the events. It is going to be a hell of a fortnight! Doggie
  10. Change to programme! We can't get a booking at Eastern Star on Friday 11th. We will be looking to book a different course that day. Watch this space! Doggie
  11. Agreed Soft Rabbit Addition to rules. " Caddies are permitted to touch the green with any part of their anatomy when lining up putts. The committee may decide, at their discretion, to award a special prize to any caddy that can be persuaded to touch the hole with their naked pussy providing the player can provide photographic evidence of same. In such an event, the winning caddy will have to participate in a full verification process at the RideHer Cup party on 7th November. The orgainser's decision will be final" Protests that "some cunt touched the hole while I was putting" will not be tolerated. Doggie
  12. Softrabbit Early start to allow for the clinic on the driving range. You can go back to bed when you get back in the evening. Anyway, sleep deprivation is all part of the training for the European team. We will all be pissing it up the night before the RideHer so best to get some early rising practice in! I hope you will be able to play in the scramble and the skins event as well. Cheers Doggie

  14. With only 4 weeks to go until the RideHer Cup, we have 37 confirmed entries. I am glad I took the precaution of booking 10 tee times. We still have 3 places left and I might be able to squeeze an extra tee time or two if there is a last minute rush. Take a look at the RideHer Cup entries thread in this section to see who is playing. If you are listed as not confirmed, it's time to piss or get off the pot! Doggie
  15. A number of you have requested rental clubs for the RideHer Cup and other November golf events. In case I miss any of you, can you please post a reply on this thread or send me a pm if you need rental clubs. I will post the prices in a few days. I need to know the following: date you want the rental to start date for return of clubs Left or right handed Graphite or steel shafts Your name Where you will be staying in Pattaya We will endeavour to have your rental clubs on the bus for the first day you are golfing with us and then you can leave them on the bus on the last day. However, we will need your hotel or address in case something goes wrong. Even if you have already contacted me, please send a reply to this post to be sure! Thanks Doggie
  16. Guys I recommend we book a tee time of 1300 if you want to play 18 holes before nightfall. Weekends can be busy so play might be a bit slow. That would mean leaving RG at about 1130 and then getting in about 30 minutes on the range before tee off. I would love to join you but that Sunday might be pretty busy for me making all the final arrangements for the next day. Let me see how things go and then I will try to make it. Please advise if this arrangement for pick-up is OK. Doggie
  17. Good point about the selection of the drive Dungheap. Both players hit their drives and they then must nominate which of the drives they will be playing. The position of the selected ball is marked by placing a tee within a few inches of the ball without moving the ball. The player whose drive has been selected hits first and then the other player places a ball as near as possible to the position of the original ball. The lie cannot be improved but the player will not be required to take a worse lie. Not fair to pick on Hands Hans Dungie. Remember he had to travel all the way from his hotel to the bus with his fingers Von Trapped in the doors of the pick up! Nice to see the rules debate has started already! Doggie
  18. The 2005 RideHer Cup Golf Match - 7th November 2005 USA vs. Europe (including some representatives from the rest of the world) Welcome to the 2005 RideHer cup - the only golf competition where having fun is more important than how you play! Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, even if you are a terrible player. Here are the arrangements and rules for the event with an explanation of the handicap calculations. Your entry fee of 3000 baht includes golf shirt, transport, green fees, caddy fees, buggies and the evening party. Caddy tips are not included - it is common to tip the caddy at least 200 baht and up to 300 baht if she is good. Selecting the matches All players meet up at FLB on Sunday evening 6th November around 9 pm. Ben will collect the money and explain the travel arrangements. Ben will also issue team shirts. The captains will then select the pairings and list them in the order of play. When both Captains have made their listings, the organiser will collect the lists and announce the matches and the order of play. Travel and arriving at the golf course Players will meet the bus at the Residence Gardens. The bus will depart at 9.30 prompt. Please don't miss the bus, as it will not wait! We strongly recommend booking at least 2 wake-up calls to make sure that you are ready to go at the appointed hour. On arrival at the golf course, your clubs will be off-loaded and handed over to your caddies. They will load them on the buggy and will meet you near the first tee. Please identify your golf bag when it is off-loaded so that the organiser can make sure that it is placed on the same buggy as your playing partner. There are facilities to hire clubs at the course - just let Ben or I know in advance that you will need hire clubs. Once your clubs are sorted, go to the changing rooms and put on your golf shoes. Then, meet up on the first tee. The organiser will have sorted out the cards for each match so make sure you collect these and that you know how the handicap system will work. When your match is announced, step up to the tee; toss a coin to decide which team tees off first and then hit away. Remember to get past the ladies tee - see special rules below! The matches Each group will play 2 matches with a point available for each match. The front nine will be played as a Texas Scramble/Ambrose. Both players in the team hit their drives and select which drive will be used. Thereafter, the players each hit a shot from the position of the best-placed ball until the team has holed out. The handicap allowance will be 1/4 the combined handicap of the 2 players in the team. Strokes will be according to the stroke index of the hole. So, a team comprising an 18 and a 36 handicapper will receive 13.5 (14) strokes and a team with a 14 and an 18 will receive 8 strokes. In this case, the first team will receive 6 strokes for 18 holes and this will be reduced to 3 strokes for the front 9 to be taken on the 3 holes with the lowest stroke index on the front nine. To add a bit of spice, the team will be required to select a minimum of 3 drives for each partner on the 9 holes. The holes will be played as straight match play and the match will be determined as a win (1 point) or a half (1/2 point) for the 9 holes. The back nine will be played as four ball better ball. Each player in the team plays every shot at the hole and the best net score for the hole wins that hole. The handicaps for the four balls will be full handicap allowance stroking off the lowest handicap player. So, in the above example, the 14 handicapper will play off scratch, his partner will get 4 strokes and the players in the other team will get 4 and 22 strokes respectively for 18 holes. The number of strokes received will then be halved for the 9 holes that are being played. Strokes will be allowed according to the SI off the holes on the back nine. The four balls will also be match play with the lowest net winning the hole and the match determined as a win or a half. Because of the high number of entries, we are teeing off on the first and 10th tees. this means that those groups teeing off the first will play the Texas for their first 9 holes and those off the 10th will play the fourball for their first 9 holes. The nineteenth hole At the end of the round, each team should submit two cards signed by them and their opponents with the result of the Texas/Ambrose and the four balls on 2 separate cards. I will collect the cards and will score the matches in conjunction with the 2 captains. The overall result will remain a secret until the evening party. After you have showered, you should have time for a drink in the clubhouse. When the competition is finished and all players are refreshed, the bus will leave for Pattaya. Players will be returned to the Residence Gardens together with your golf clubs. Bonus prizes There will be a longest drive and nearest the pin competition on the back nine (the fourball nine). The holes where these competitions are running will be identified on your cards. The longest drive must come to rest on the fairway and will be marked with a stake and marker card. The stakes will be carried by the first match out and should be placed by them after the respective best shots in their match. If none of the players hit the respective fairways or green, the stakes should be left on the tee for the next group. If you beat the previous best for longest drive or nearest the pin, move the stake forward to the position where the ball came to rest and add your name below the previous entry. Remember, it is only your first shot that counts for these competitions ? no mulligans (see below) or provisionals! We will also have some other "fun" competitions running during the matches - these will be announced the previous evening. Special rules - Mulligans If you don't understand what a Mulligan is, ask the organiser at the launch party! Each team of 2 players will be able to purchase up to 4 Mulligans for 100 baht each before RideHer Cup play starts. Cost per Mulligan is 100 baht each with money going into the Mulligan Baht Pool. The Mulligan Baht pool will be used to purchase tequila or similar libations for the FLB party in the evening. 2 Mulligans may be used per 9 holes - 1 from the tee box and 1 from anywhere on the course excluding the tee box and green. No carryovers allowed. If you don't use your 2 Mulligans on the front nine you lose them on the back nine. A little twist to add some spice to the event, opponents can use appropriate (tee box or anyplace) Mulligans to make an opponents team member (not his partner) shoot his or her shot over again if you think your opponent's shot was too good or was just a lucky one. This is called the Reverse Mulligan! The Reverse Mulligan cannot be invoked on the green. Obviously, you will lose that Mulligan for your own use if it is played on an opponents shot. No Mulligans can be used against opponents or for themselves when any longest drive or nearest pin prizes are being played for on the shot. If you call a mulligan, the ball must be dropped before playing the shot. The only exception is on a tee shot or in the sand when the ball may be placed. Other special rules Any male player failing to hit his drive past the ladies tee box will have to play his next shot with his trousers round his ankles. Any male player claiming a handicap of 29 or more will be required to play all 18 holes wearing a dress. Failure to obey this rule will incur a serious fine and-or forfeit in the evening! Any 36 handicapper who plays an air shot - failing to connect with the ball when attempting to play it - will be permitted to play the shot again without penalty. If he or she misses with the second attempt, this will be counted as one shot. The pussy prize. The pussy prize will be awarded to the player who leaves a birdie attempt short of the hole by the longest margin. If a player has a birdie putt (only counts if the ball is on the green with the shot before the birdie putt) and leaves the birdie putt short of the hole, the opponents will be required to estimate the distance that the putt is short of the hole. The name of the player and the distance short of the hole should be reported to the organiser at the end of the round. Shortest drive. This competition will run at the same hole as longest drive. A stake for shortest drive will be provided to the first group and should be placed on the fairway at the distance of the shortest drive for their group. Players failing to pass this stake with their drives should collect the stake and place it back on the fairway (or possibly the tee or even behind the tee) with their name added to the list. The last group should collect the stake Furthest from the pin. This competition will run at the same hole as the nearest the pin competition. Same rules as the shortest drive competition. This stake will probably be found in some interesting places - it cannot be thrown in the water! If a shot lands in the water, the stake should be placed on the landside of the hazard at the approximate distance from the hole that the water shot landed. The Jontiem Beach Trophy. This will be awarded to the player who takes the most shots to escape from a bunker on the back nine. Nominations should be given to the organiser at the end of the round and should be verified by the opponents. Players name and number of bunker shots should be submitted to the organiser at the end of the competition. The RideHer Cup presentation party Ben will announce the arrangements for the party on Sunday evening. Last year, it was decided that the losing team would pay a bar fine for each member of the winning team. This bar fine may be used at FLB on the night of the party. Any player who does not want to use the money for a bar fine may exchange the credit for liquid refreshment of any ladies of his or her choice. Last rule - have fun!!
  19. In response to requests from a number of the RideHer Cup players, I have organised some additional golf days before and after the big event. On arrival at Phoenix, there will be a 1/2 hour clinic on the driving range with the golf pro(s). We have booked 4 tee times from 10.40 onwards so we can accommodate 16 players right now for 18 holes. If there is more demand, I will try to book some extra times so get your entries in fast! Cost will depend on the number of players but it is likely to be around Bht 2400 including transport, green fees, caddy fees and tuition. Return transport will be to the Residence Gardens. Friday 4th November - Catz Open at Khao Kheow Last year we had the Kittens Open. This year, the litter has grown into adulthood so we have the Catz Open. Pieman will post some more details about this event. Wednesday 9th November - International Texas Scamble at Burapha I am inviting teams of 3 players to enter the Scramble. Each team can represent a country, a region of the world or any other geographical affiliation you may care to select! Each team will be entitled to one quarter of the combined handicap of the 3 players. For any of you not familiar with a Texas Scramble or Ambrose, I will explain the rules when we meet you all during the golf week. Cost will be around Baht 1800 including transport, green fees and caddy fees. Transport will depart the Residence Gardens at 9.15 on Wednesday 9th November. Friday 11th November - The Pattaya Fore Skins Challenge This is your chance to have a friendly wager with a group of your buddies at Eastern Star. We have booked the course for 10th November but that date clashes with some other local activities so we are in the process of changing the booking. All being well, we will leave the Residence Gardens at 0845 and tee off at10.30. You can enter as a fourball to gamble amongst yourselves or as an individual. With individuals, I will draw the groups from a hat and leave you to decide on your bets. On the return journey, we will call into the bars of Bang Chang for the 19th hole in the Foreskins challenge! Cost will be around Baht 1800 including transport, green fees and caddy fees. Golf Registrations To help you register for the various golf events, excluding the RideHer Cup, I will be at the FLB from 2000 to 2200 on Tuesday 1st November. We will answer any questions, explain the rules and take your entries. It is important that you either register here on the board, send me a pm or register on 1st November so that I can make the final transport and tee time bookings. I look forward to seeing you all in Pattaya. Kind regards Doggie
  20. Deuce As last year's winning captain, I trust you will return the trophy to FLB on 6th November. I would hate to have to cancel this year's event because the trophy is missing! Doggie
  21. I can book tee times at Phoenix (RideHer venue) on 6th for you. The rate will include transport and will depend on how many of you want to play. If there are 4 golfers, the rate will be about Baht 2550 including green fee, transport and caddy fee. Buggy and caddy tips are extra. We can pick you up from the RG - this is the normal golf pick-up point. There is a driving range at Phoenix plus practice green. If there are are few of you, I can also arrange for our golf pro to run a short clinic on the range and then join you for your round to give you a few tips. Let me know if you are interested and I will add this to the price. It is a weekend so the course can be busy in the morning. I would recommend we book you a time of around 1300 so that you can hit a few balls on the range before your round. Just let me know how many of you want to play on 6th. Doggie
  22. Hammer The photo is waiting for you with Ben on the memory stick that I left with him. he was meant to bring it to Bangkok but he left it in Pattaya! Just give him a call and he will send it to you. A fun day and looking forward to a re-match. I think I over-clubbed with the shot that went straight over the green into the tennis courts and onward into the car park! Hammr, you will be a fine addition to the European team. Keep practising! Doggie
  23. Rental clubs If anyone needs rental clubs, can you please either post or send me a PM with: Dates for delivery and return Left or right handed Graphite or steel shafts I will have our local guy source the best prices and then I will post the details. Doggie
