  8. Greg the Sandalay is fully open. Most of the refurb was finished in Sept and when I left 9th the workmen were just doing general tidying up and sorting some of the rubble still left in the carpark. There were a number of mixed families (thai/farang) that were staying and the kids seemed to love the new pool area (jacuzzi in the corner). Due to the work on the beach rd it was a bit noisy even though it is set back from the beach rd. I believe that work is now finished. I stayed in the adjoining apartments for a month and there was the usual soi 2 traffic and the tour buses and noisy taiwanese/japanese and indian tour groups staying at the A one. One of the managers took me for a tour around the Sandalay and showed off the refurb room and facilities. It looked very nice particularry for families as there seemed to be plenty of space for kids to run around and play away from the roadside. I cant remember the rates so let us know as I might stay there in Feb if the price is reasonable. Im bored with the Sabaii Inn as it seems to be more of a hang out for groups of loud drunken young blokes these days. p.s. there is a familymart next to the carpark entrance for all your late purchases
  9. Thanks for the translation. I stayed there last Christmas and New year as it was the only place available due to the influx of diverted Phuketters post tsunami. 14. Checkout the Downtown Hotel, 2 mins from the heart of nightmarket. Good rooms all amenities, laundry, resteraunt, car service etc, fair price i think 850 baht standard. gf and discreet staff.
  15. Phantom i replied to the same post in Bktonite. but in case you didnt check. TN guesthouse is mainly backpackers. IMHO having stayed at the TN hotel many times the last Aug 05, i rate this much better on all aspects. GF also. The pool is small but clean doubt if you will get TG in the water for the next couple months as its pretty cold up there at the moment. Another option may be the Montri hotel on Moon Muang Rd, Thapae Gate. approx 720 baht per night, gf, great service and internet cafe. rooms here better than TN but no pool. hope that helps.

  19. Sorry for the confusion. I will depart from Belfast that is why both ROI Dublin and any Uk aiport would be ok. Ive provisionally booked for 14th Dec, Belfast>LGW>Dubai>BKK with Emirates for £594. However doubt if I will be able to get that one. Unless, my work load changes, which I doubt. Therefore Ive also provisionally booked for 18th Dec, Dub>??>BKK with Gulf for £670. Trying to cover all bases!! One way or the other i will get there coz lack of thai boomboom increases my determination! haha Val, do u have a website contact for Malev? never heard of them. ps. my tg asked me if i have been sending sexy sms to her friend. Well can you believe that? As if I would do that! Cover all the bases say I.
  20. I wish it was euros me self mate!! nope its good old pounds from enger land. that was a qoute this afternoon for 18th dec from Trailfinders. belfast, lgw, dubai>bkk!!!!!! the thought of having to be here eating turkey instead of nibbling hoy in pats is depressing!! btw. the fatbird in trailfinders told me that i would have to get my visa before i go if going via lgw with emirates. she said one of her punters wasnt allowed thru yesterday as he had a 3 month tkt with no pre booked onward flights!!! I usually just walk thru and never been stopped in the last 4+ years for having NO visa or pre booked onward flights! Does anyone know whether they have tightened things up. before i get flamed I do know that is regulation to have visas if staying longer than 30 days. Ive never done that uk side. ive made 11 rtn trips in the last 4 and half years!! whats da story??? ps. why u hap pompem u nose? >>> love child!!! 555

  22. thanks and sorry 9's I plan at least 3 months stay. I can then help my girl from Nong Khai improve herself in that time. oops! Khorat or somewhere like that 555. I'd appreciate any further pointers for a three months stay.
  23. Finally, recieved my final work date commitments 12th December 05! Been surfing and phoning :frustrated all sites and agents for a flight outta this freezing land. All the available pre Christmas quotes from Dublin are coming in around £850+. That extra 2-3 hundred quid would really be useful to help put my gogo dancing Korat cutie through further education She really doesnt like working in that p4p envirioment However she only stays there because she enjoys being near the seaside as that is the only reason she came to Pattaya Im desperate to get a flight booked. Can anyone advise. Thanks upfront.
