  1. I prefer places like the Dynasty Inn where they have "crispy bacon" listed on their menu.
  2. Why do Thais not fry bacon. They serve it almost rare. The bacon on that burger looks like it was taken right out of the fridge and put on the burger. I love bacon but I like it cooked. The best cooked bacon that I have found in Thailand is at AuBonPain.
  3. Does anyone know if you rent a condo from Honey's or Dancewatchers, would you be able to hire a maid to come in and tidy up each day and change the bedding either daily or every 2 or 3 days? It appears that the two services only change the bedding once each week.
  4. I can't read your comments because of the distraction-that thing bouncing from side to side.
  5. I like the Flight Attendants on Pan Am, TWA and Eastern Airlines. And Piedmont Airlines as well as Ozark.
  6. Has there been any delays in recent days at Immigration because of the extra screening of people arriving from countries where there have been reported cases of the swine flu? I read in the Bangkok Post that they will be asking arrivals about their recent activities and taking their temperatures.
  7. Damn. how did they get that 600 pound person on the plane? That is one BIG person. I am surprised that they even allow someone that size on a plane.
  8. The Summer Spring is owned by the same family that owns the Sandy Spring. They are a Chineese (Taiwan) family by the name of "Springto".
  9. Have any of you ever used the booking agency called Asia Rooms. Last week I booked five days at the Majestic Grande thru Asia Rooms. Got a rate of $86.00 for a Premiere Room which is cheaper than reserving with the hotel. Asia Rooms required my credit card. Within a couple of minutes of submitting the reservation request I received an Email from them stating that my credit card had been approved and that they would contact me when the hotel confirmed my reservation. Several days later I had not heard from Asia Rooms so I clicked on a status button on the origional reply that I received from th
  10. does anyone know if the Thai Airbus non-stop from JFK to BKK has the economy class configured at 2-4-2? And do you know how the premium economy is configured? Thank-you.
  11. I LOVE NUI!!!!!! Signed: "Nui's secret admirer until I return to Pattaya
  12. Leo is correct about baby milk being allowed onboard. That is as long as it is tested before the mother boards the plane. That is my job at the Miami airport. I test the milk of lactating mothers to make sure that it is safe to take on board the plane. It is a very pleasant job, especially when those cute little Asian and Latino mothers come thru.
  13. Why am I the only one that has that symbol?
  14. What is the "Warn" mean under the flag in a person's avatar? I have a "warn 0%" under the flag in my avatar.
  15. I will be attending a convention at the Impala Hotel In Bangkok in mid-June. Anyone know if they are guest-friendly? Any comments about this hotel? Thanks
  16. I found that you should not accept the 1st fare on EVA's website as being the best fare. Tell your friend to look at all "special fares" on the website. Also, if he is flexible and chooses a day later of earlier for departure and/or return, it could mean a difference of as much as $1000.00.
  17. "It's going to be set up like SA A-345's, premium-economy and business" Does this mean that there are only 2 classes of service on SA-no economy? If so, is SA's lower class of service-premium economy priced higher than other airlines' economy class and how is the premium-economy in comparison to EVA's Deuxe service? Thanks
  18. You would have to be in the U. S. military or, retired military as I am. The US Air Force contracts with several commercial airlines to fly troops to Asia from the west coast and to Europe from the east coast. As long as their are seats available, and there usually is, retirees can fly free except for some taxes or junk airport fees which is the 27.00. They fly from LAX to Seattle then non-stop to Japan and on to Singapore. From there, I pick up a cheap commercial airfare up to BKK. I could actually fly free to Singapore if I wanted to go on military aircraft but they are not as reliable.
  19. I fly from Los Angeles to Singapore for $27.00 then RT Singapore to Bangkok for usually around $250.00.
  20. There are actually 2 hotels on Soi 2 with the name Golden. One is called Golden Gate and it has a large gate at the entrance that is painted gold. The other hotel has a large bridge outside and it is a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, They are next door to each other so they could be owned by the same people.
