as far as i'm aware, ntfs or fat/fat32 formats will not make any difference on usb sticks. it is still dependant on your security credentials on the OS. if you format using ntfs, you will get more space as it uses less clusters than fat32/fat. also, i may be wrong here but ntfs volumes fragments more than fat32 due to their cluster sizes!

i'd suggest changing your tickets after your outbound travel. depending on the type of ticket you have, if you change your tickets before your outbound flight, there will be a higher charge sometimes even losing the whole ticket as it will count as a cancellation. the normal charge to change return date is £50 after outbound travel. good airline btw
