flights all confirmed now, paul. i'll be arriving into bkk airport on sept 2 around 0715 with qatar airways. not sure which terminal though! return could be tricky - i may leave on sept 12, spend my last day in bangkok before flying out on sept 13. but as you know by now, anything could happen with my decisions!!!

hi ya, welcome to the board! the hotel is guest friendly but it is out of the way on some darkened street, off soi 15, 2nd road. there are other hotels similarly priced & better located ie lek hotel, sandy spring, dynasty inn etc. read the hotel reviews section & it will give you a better idea. if you need any more info, ask away. there are some very informative members but beware of a few (i won't mention their names at the moment)

hy paul, hows the family? well, looks like i'll be back in town again around the 2nd or 3rd of september. not sure yet whether i'll stay in bangkok for the first night & then head down to pattaya on the 3rd. i should let you know by the end of the week, hopefully with more exact details.

personally, i would recommend the Lek. it is centrally located (more or less), walking distance to everywhere else or baht bus ride away. becareful of picoman - he seems to be down lately maybe because there was no saturday poll!

very good airline! will be looking to fly with them again later in the year or early next summer. abu dhabi airport is much smaller compared to dubai but i found their new boeing 777-300er planes much better than emirates!

just got back to the uk with a 18 night stay at the Jasmine Mansion. good hotel, great staff especially the cute receptionist!

i will definitely stop by around 7pm at the 5 star as i have to go & say hello to a certain beauty in mike's mall beforehand.

i'll try & make it for 1900 but won't be able to stay long as i'll be joining the bar crawl starting at the FLB around 1930/2000. you could join us as i've never been to one with a large gathering.
