  1. Sounds like you have more money than sense.
  2. Have been using Open Office for several years (too cheap to spring for MS upgrade). I don't need to work with others so I can't comment on that. Word and Excel substitutes work just fine for me. I've passed the word on the to others who are also quite satisfied.
  3. The original had two or three times the number of crew. Back then the bilge pumps were manually driven. If they went out, it was bucket brigade time. Just no way to say had they sailed further east they might have survived.
  4. Where are the spinners? All the pics are appreciated but there's an awful lot of fat ass. Not many that Gabor or I would pick.
  5. I'm 70+ years old. Have traveled quite a bit over the years and have never had nor needed travel insurance. I've never lived pay check to pay check and have always had saving for those just in case times. I just dislike insurance companies, i quess.
  6. I find the attitudes of immigration/customs people reflect the attitudes of the traveller. Be happy and pleasant towards them and you get pleasant back. Now supervisors who see long lines and refuse to man more stations are a bigger problem.
  7. Have any of you considered that the OP might want to talk to the girls in Thai?
  8. And your are not now or ever been a tax paying citizen of a super taxing welfare nanny state, never enjoyed the benefits of such citizenship and never reaped the fruits of wealth available therein and are foregoing any pension (welfare) payments from that place? Quit bashing the place that brung you up.
  9. I received a brochure in the mail from one of those "We'll show you the way" tour companies about 30 years ago. Read it but chucked it in the bin. Ten years ago as I hit the 60 mark I was browsing the web and clicked on something that brought back memories of that brochure. Research and more research and than "what the hell, buy the ticket". Several nights in Bangkok first were just overwhelming. I could count on one hand how many times I had been into a bar up to that time. I was reluctant to take part. Than I went to Pattaya. Some sweet young thing dragged me into a gogo on Pattaya Land 2 an
  10. Check EVA Bangkok to Taipei to New York via Seattle. They may even have an east bound flight Taipei direct to New York. The best connection flight leaves Bangkok around 1630. Longest leg Taipei to Seattle is about 10 hours.
  11. Use the back entrance after midnight. Top floor (fourth) has the deluxe rooms with balconies.
  12. Geez what the hell are you carrying? I fly with one carry-on less that 10 pounds.
  13. And if you miss the bus you can take the shuttle to the bus station and catch the other companies coach.
