Hello,

This is my first post so here it goes.....

Recently, i was in Pattaya for few days, and was really hard to spot upper class ( hi-so ) Thais or even middle class for that matter....

There is a good chance i might be living in Pattaya for six month starting in Dec.

Do the so called "hi-so" crowd exist in Pattaya ? if so , where are they ? where do they eat, shop, etc...??? Thanks.

you will not find many thais who really have money going to pattaya, the stick to royal seaside resorts like Hua Hin. But why would you want to know? The Thai upper class tries to avoid farangs like the plaque anyway :D

cheers

bj1,

Not quite sure what you mean by "hi-so crowd" - sounds a bit like the Bangkok Tonight board ............... :D

Upper class Thais do exist in Pattaya - we even have our own Thai princess in residence (I think she lives next door to Hilly!). 2guns You can regularly spot her driving around in her VW Beetle ...... :D

Tom :D

I'm sure even Soi7 would have a good idea about this one. He's the same guy that buys TWO 1st class seats just so he can "stretch out" on long flights. I don't even need to go on about his trips to gold shops.

Cheers,

Mark

I don't know where the hi-so crowd hangs out. I doubt it's in Pattaya as this town is not a typical Thai town. This town is full of whores, thieves and con artists looking to fleece the falang.

Do you speak excellent Thai, drive a new BMW? Live in a big house located within a gated community? Work for a large foreign company with a big expat package? If you do I want to be your houseboy/bitch. :D Just kidding. The reason I ask unless you have all the things listed above. You can forgetaboutit. There is no entry into the hi-so crowd for you or me.

High society in Thailand I would expect is much like the rest of the world: you don't join, you are invited. A Skull and Bones kind of thing.

... town is full of whores, thieves and con artists...

:puke Hey, that's my kind of people! :P

All Dears, Darlings and French Letter's.

Give me a bit of rough anytime. it cuts out all the bollocks.

This town is full of whores, thieves and con artists...

As Balzac said, "Behind every great fortune is a scandal."

Whores, thieves and con-artists are the next generation's high-so, right Ozzies?
