Whats the best way to get to Pattaya from BKK Airp

Recommended Posts

Hehehe, glad to hear from you Chris, even if it's to tell me to knock it off!! :nod :P

Gotten to be a bit of knee jerk reaction for me, I must admit. Kinda like slamming the septics, you know? :eyecrazy :3some

"whats this cheap mini bus goes to your pattaya hotel"

Actually, you can arrange it at the little desk by the door. 200-250 baht as I recall? They dropped me off at my hotel in Pattaya. Couple times a day or more. I think it left about 1100 the one time I used it? Ask them about it when you check-in.

Sa-teef,

Thanks for the information. I also have a love for the Nana area as well. However, I do not share the enthusiasm of some here for the hotel's accommodations. A real sh##hole if you ask me. But I am interested in the hotel's mini-van to Pattaya. Do you know if you have to be a guest at the Nana to use their mini-van service? Does it cost more if you are not a guest? Finally, does the mini-van go directly to Pattaya and how do you catch it back to Bangkok?

Winston,

Perhaps I'll offer them sloppy seconds from the prior evening instead. Provided she is still around. Your comments notwithstanding, their rooms are still smelly cockroach infested sh**holes. Down deep....... don't you think they know that too? LOL. :behead

Actually Chris, I used the mini-van service once and service was good I thought. It was last August when I stayed overnight at the Nana on my first night in LOS before I headed for Pattaya and had heard about it on this forum. Since I was there, I thought I would check it out.

But I'll make sure to stay out of your parking lot.

BigAl, I think they take all comers actually. I was staying there the one time I used it. If you got the baht, etc etc....

But you might want to send them an e-mail on that.

I'm sure others on the board have probably used it more than I.

Yeah, a cab off the street is cheaper than a cab at the door most times. Seems the cab mafia on hotel grounds always are getting a piece of the action.

I'm smoking (this month) myself but I'd be careful on the mini-bus. Most of 'em aren't all that happy about us smokers. Hopefully I'll quit (again!) before I get back to LOS but either way have a good trip.

I once got the mini-van from Nana. You book through the tour desk and you do not have to be a guest.

I may have just had an unlucky experience. I assumed that the mini-bus would take us all the way to Pattaya, but I was wrong.

First you have to wait for the mini-van to show up. If you are lucky you'll be the last one it picks up and you wont have to pick up anyone else.

The mini-van then took us to the edge of Bangkok where we had to get out and wait for a big-bus. We waited for about an hour in this bus station and then got put onto some big bus that was mostly filled already.

Upon arriving in Pattaya there was a second mini-bus waiting for us to take us to our hotel.

It was NOT a pleasant way to travel and took longer and cost more than just taking a bus from Ekamai. Essentially the mini-bus was no better than an overpriced taxi to and from the bus station.

If you take this option try and find out if the mini-bus will take you the wholel way or not. If it does then this is a much more reasonible option than otherwise.

You can also take the Dynasty minibus DIRECT to Dynasty Inn or resort . You DO NOT have to a guest at the Dynasty Bangkok to enjoy this service. You must prepay for 2 or more nights at either dynasty inn or dynasty resort pattaya and they will provide free transport via minibus. Return to Dynasty Bangkok DIRECT on the day of your choosing for 350 baht. You can book at the travel desk or at the main desk at Dynasty Bangkok.

Thanks for the information. Can you tell me if the Dynasty mini-van goes to Pattaya via the expressway and if the toll is included in the 350 baht? BTW, what is current amount for the toll?

You may also be able to rent a car for about 800.

These are parked near the main entrance of the Ambassador (on the Soi, not on Sukhumvit). There is a kind of alley approximately opposite the gate (you will see food vendors) and last year the cars were advertising 800 baht.

Having said that, I should mention that I have never traveled in one - I prefer going to Ekamai if I only have hand luggage. On the way back I hop on a van for 250-300.

Yes, of course the expressway, leaves at 1100 from the Bangkok Dynasty, goes direct to Dynasty Pattaya and toll charges are included , but it's not 350 TO pattaya, it's free. The 350 Baht is for the return to Bangkok and toll charges are also included.
