Hi........i need a change from the soi7/8 hotels where i allways stay ..... i;m looking for a mid range place 2 stay around the soi buakaow area........any ideas.... cheers.......

Both good and cheap places (Intown starts at 450, Bliss Mansion 350) between 2nd Rd and Soi Buakaow.

Don't want to rain on your parade but you need to consider transportation a bit more if you live there. Baht buses are infrequent.

 

But having said that, just take a walk along there during the day and you will see lots of smaller hotels and guest houses at much cheaper prices than the high traffic areas. Stay in a known hotel for a couple of days while you look around. The Sawasdee chain has a big place on Soi Buakaow right next to Cupido (?) beer bar complex.

On the corner of Soi Dianna and Soi Buakaow some new hotels have just opened. Just a short distance from there you'll find 2 relatively new hotels ( Opey de Place and J & P Court ) and 2 other hotels that have just opened between them. These should cost you no more than 600 a night. Baht buses run up and down Soi Buakaow at least till 2:30 A M.
