Jomtien Beach - Botany Beach Hotel

Recommended Posts

I have never stayed there and it really doesn't sound familiar. Looking at the map that Dingo came across though, I am wondering if it is part of a Condo complex that I looked at just past the end of the Jomtien Beach road. There is a restaurant right at the end of the road and you have to take this poor road away from the beach about 100 meters or so to get there. If it is, I don't think it would be a good place to stay because it is a bit off the beaten track. You would almost certainly have to have your own transport. The baht buses seldom if ever go that far. I have never seen one down that far and I go down there once in a while to the restaurant. The road out to Sukhimvit at that location is a dirt road which is a problem if it rains. Even getting down Jomtien Beach road that far can sometimes be a problem because they have been doing drain repairs and cut the whole road up in places.

All in all, unless they are paying you, I think I would try for closer in town.

Cheers

Would advise against staying that end of Jomtein Beach. The Baht buses will not go that far, you would definitely need your own transport. The drive North travelling the length of Jomtein Beach takes 10 to 14 minutes, then over the hill to Pattaya say another 10 minutes. With traffic it could take you 30 minutes to get into Sth Pattaya.

A few years ago the family and I stayed in some cabins for 2 nights within 100 metres of where the road turns inland from the Beach. The family booked it not me. At night completely dead, nothing except the restaurant at the corner which is a good restuarant. Worth a trip down there one night for a meal but not to stay.

There are so many good places to stay I would give this one a miss.

Forgot to add one thing if you like to be a little bit out of town...

If you would like to be away from it all for family reasons etc.

Nothing will/can beat Royal Cliff Beach resort.

You will get a room there for 2300B in the low season (beach resort building), if not cheaper, and you will be on you own planet with South Pattaya just 5 minutes away by car.

Feeling lonely you can walk to Freeway bar in 10 minutes... :P

The Botany Beach is quite a long way from the action, but the fish restaurant at the end of Jomtien beach road is a must visit.

When I come to Pattaya in November I will stay downtown for 3 or 4 nights then 5 nights at Pinnacle resort which is near Botany.

It is very quiet during the day and you feel like you are on Koh samui, at night you are away from the action but still should only cost 200 baht max for your own taxi, probably the hotel may run a courtesy bus at certain times.

Myself I think it is worth the hassle, just for the tranquility of the daytime and 200 baht is not exactly crippling. As we all know Pattaya city is 24/7 and it's nice just to have a break sometimes, especially if you have found a sexy TG :P

I agree, it's way out in the boonies and from the web sit it appears also to be WAY overpriced for an out of the way area. If you want to stay in Jomtien there are a lot of better choices and much cheaper such as the Boat House and the Surf Hotel. They are both directly on the beach and on the baht bus route. I would guess that a baht bus would be very hard if not impossible to get in the boonies.
