Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

I have not actually stayed there, but have checked the rooms out which are very nice. Was told the cost was 700 baht per night.

This place is brand new, large rooms with king sized beds, large TV with DVD player and a nice bar downstairs.

Use it as a drinking hole a couple of nights a week.

Raymond the manager used to work at G-Spot before they closed, and the bar is not a hostess bar, although most of the staff are ex G-Spot service girls. A good friendly place to stay in the middle of the action.

Same management as the Queen Victoria just down the Soi.

Mike.

I am also wondering if there are any advantages/disadvantages to staying on soi 6.

I like starting the day off with a good BJ and soi 6 is the place to get it. Quuen Vic serves good food.

I've stayed on Soi 6 the last 2 times I've been to Pattaya. I can get to the Queen Vic about 4 different ways, so avoiding the BJ Bars can be done easily. But at times I like to visit those bars at the end of a night out, so it is nice to be close to the hotel.

The Soi has currency exchange, laundry, places to eat, 7-11 near by, so I like what it has to offer. Really enjoy staying at the QV and being on the balcony to watch the TG's...

Hi,

Got to agreed with you Greg. the Q.V. is exellent good staff, rooms, food and location The L. Nelson is based an the same style rooms as the Q.V. good size rooms and BIG beds, The currency exchange on Soi 6, requires your passport for your first transaction and then all you have to do is bring the receipt you got from this for any other trans.. I've stayed there for the passed 3 years for 6 to 8 week at a time and have no complaints, i've booked 6 months next year and was quoted 13,500B per month for a superior room. Considering what a flat would have cost and all the extras you have to pay for I consider this a good deal. Fair enough they have no pool or lift but I consider this a minor thing.

Cheers Doug.

I have also stayed in one of the QV's flats on Soi 6 (posted a review), and I really enjoyed it. I stayed there in July while they were building The Lord Nelson. From what Bert (QV manager) and Vic (owner) was telling me, it would be like the QV, but with a maritime theme. Also, I don't think they have a restaurant there, but the QV is literally seconds down the street. Also, soi 6 is fun to watch from your balcony, and they both have back alley entrances if you want to avoid attention. Easy to hop on a baht bus and go down to Walking Street, Soi 7&8, or Pattayaland. Good location.

I'll agree the stairs can get to be a pain in the arse, but I like being able to come in the front door and go out the backdoor {when needed}. The view from the balcony is very nice, as I did tour Room #9 in Sept 2004. I really liked it as the room was big enough and the balcony had a great view.

Fun thing to do, would be to visit a BJ Bar and go out the alley to your room at the Lord Nelson. Since from memory, you have to go outside the bar {Kiss Bar} to get to the ST room...

I did notice a DVD player in the room also and it had a ceiling fan over the King size bed. I did put it in the Hotel Review section, with some pictures.
