Better late than never hey Hub?

It was a great day.

There's still one story that's yet to be told, so excuse me for 6 hours while I bore you all to death.

The Mongrel Doggie had been patrolling the sois up until a night before looking to pad the Blue team:

Wearing muscle shirts titled:

"Will poke if you can putt!"

He passed on a few ladyboys before settling on Hans from Austria, off 16 going on 6 and staying at our Bella Villa.

Doing my patriotic job as an Americano, Hans was forced to ride in the back of the pick-up as we headed to the RG and after slamming his fingers with the door (I kid you not!), my Yankee buddie and I were somewhat surprised to hear him shouting "das is goot" when we arrived at Muirfield. (Could this have been Mirkwood's neighbor??)

Well Hans' partner did not bring his A Game, nor his Z Game, from what I heard but Hans hit every green and the front nine came down to the par-3 eighth, where Hans had carried his team to a 1-up lead.

Now, on the previous hole, where both went OB or into the drink off the tee and effectively wiped the hole, they chose Hans' ball as the tee shot. A very poor decision, as history will show.

So on the eighth tee, Hans' was reminded that each player had to use 3 tee shots on the front nine and Hans' partner had only used one...

Hans then stood up and placed his tee shot within 15 feet of the hole, a tremendous effort.

His partner, unfortunately, hit his ball a staggering 15 foot from the tee, and the team was forced to accept that ball, lose that hole and the next one.

Agh, thanks for the memories lads. B) :D

Hub,

Nice report and as you say, a top day.

Before you give the erroneous impression I can play the game, you might have pointed out that those flukey 2 holes were my only contribution of the whole round and were entirely due to the fact you'd got me pissed on Tetley's by then. Thus you are solely responsible for America not winning - I hope you are ashamed of yourself. B) :beer

I wish we could do it every week, that day and the Kanchanburi trip will live long in the memory. I look forward to a repeat next year - doggie and I want our money back. :banghead

Cheers

Nice one Hub and if you had not lent me That Biggest Big Bertha then the back nine for us would have resulted in a draw and the USA would have taken home the prestigious trophy. What a piece of metal that club is. Even if you miss the ball by 6 inches you still hit it. Anyway what do I know about 6 inches. LOL.

Thanks for the club and if anyone coming here soon fancies picking me up The Biggest Big Bertha and its twin mate the 3 wood then I will buy you the best looking bird you can find in FLB to go with the money they cost. Might even convince Mod to leave me for a night.LOL

Nice report Hub and thanks for helping Europe. Also thanks to Greg for his support.

Well done with the report Hub. It brings back a lot of fine memories and gets me thinking about planning the next golfing trip.

I had forgotten all about Hans getting his fingers trapped in the doors of the pick up truck! We were all in the cab nursing hangovers and we thought that Hans was singing as he stood up in the back with his hands either side of the cab doors. "Strange guy that Hans - must have enjoyed the Titanic movie" we thought as we watched him with the wind blowing through his hair and his mouth opening and shutting as the tears ran down his face. Little did we know he was screaming in agony with his fingers trapped in the cab doors! I am chuckling now as a I replay the image in my mind but it wasn't funny for Hans.

Many great memories from that trip. I will be back in April for some more golf - maybe earlier if all goes well. Let's try to co-ordinate some of our trips and get the same gang out there more than once a year.

See ya soon.

Hub

I will be arriving in BKK on 29th March with our bowls tour. I get to Pattaya on 1st April so I should be able to break loose during the day for a few rounds of golf with you. I wont be able to go to Chiang Mai on that trip because I am locked in to our tour programme. I have a group of golfers arriving on 10th April to do a tour to Pattaya, Kanchanaburi and BKK. If you want to play some golf in Chiang Mai, I can fix this for you with Simon. Just give me the dates and I'll put you in touch with him.

I am thinking about organising a Chiang Mai trip after the RideHer next November. This will depend upon how many people are interested.

Cheers

Doggie

Hub thanks mate and have a promise of the clubs but not sure if it will work out as the guy is now doubtful on his trip here. Will let you know. Hub what was the loft on that driver and what also was the shaft. Thanks. Assume it was not customised?
