I told my TG that I was looking for condo to rent in Jomtien she started laughing like mad. It seems that thai's acknowledge this as the gay area. I had seen a nice place at View Talay 2 she said all gay falang's live there. Ive nothing against gay people but I do not want to be living among them.

Is this true is Jomtien the gay part of Pattaya

I moved to Jomtien about half a Year ago now.

Yes, it is considered a gay center. No, I am not gay by any means. But I enjoy my surroundings very much. I had a lot of gay friends back home, and I have some new friends here that are gay. So what? Without generalisation, gays are often considered as more intelligent, socialising, and open to new ideas than others.

No, I don't get propositions when I walk here alone. No, I don't get indecent looks, or touches. There is a few cafes and bars to be avoided, but you find out very quick.

Unless you suffer from a severe homophobia (serious form of illness in my view), go for it! It is only Minutes away from Pattaya centre, the infrastructure is fine here, much less noise, and the living much less stressy!

I'm looking at relocating to the View Talay area in the middle of next year. I've nothing against gays - so long as they allow me to lead my life the way I want to lead it. :chogdee

Classic. :chogdee

I know an English couple (man and wife) who have bought a condo in Jomtien. I am informed that there are a lot of gay men about and the area is quiet when compared with Pattaya.

They like Jomtien and the condo. Enough said.

Chok dee.

When I was 20 being gay was illegal.

When I was 30 it was tolerated.

When I was 40 it became legal.

Now I'm rising 50 and getting outa here before they make it compulsory.

or it has govt approval and encouraged............... 2guns

US military wanted 'sex bomb'

By Milanda Rout

January 14, 2005

A "SEX bomb" that would make enemy soldiers irresistible to each other was considered by the US military.

Declassified documents reveal the Pentagon toyed with the idea of an aphrodisiac chemical weapon in 1994.

The gas would have made enemy soldiers sexually irresistible to each other. The weapon's developers said homosexual behaviour among troops would deal a "distasteful but completely non-lethal" blow to morale.

The plans, unearthed from a US air force laboratory in Ohio, were published in New Scientist magazine.

Hola Clubman, ¿como estás hermano? :beer

I took my nick from the film, I think it sounds pretty cool.

There's a number of countries whose citizens get a 90-days visa automatically on arrival at the border, but if things hadn't changed lately, Thailand isn't among them, so your TG's will have to get a tourist visa at the Spanish embassy in BKK. I don't know all the papers they'll demand, it's better you get that info directly from them: http://www.embesp.or.th/index.html

The thai community in Spain is very small, so far as I know, and most of them live in Madrid and Barcelona, and own thai restaurants and other business related to their country. Little chance to hook oup with TG's here, I guess.

I just rented a furnished carpeted condo in Jomtien with plans to buy. The rent is 18,000/month with the most incredible view. Aircon/Water/Cable extra. Frankly, it's higher than my budget but the view is amazing and security is tight.

I visited the popular Viewtalay condos and made inquiries. There were condos fully furnished with tile floors for 15,000/month. The rooms are new and slick. I found them slightly away from the action so I passed but I think it's a good value option.

I could probebly fit one of them in my carry on bag will have to test this.

I used to live right in the middle of the village in New York City. Depending on which way I walked, I was either right in the middle of a gay neighborhood or right in the middle of the Bowery. The bottom line, though, was that it didn't much matter. Everyone left me alone if that's what I wanted, and I had a good time. I had the time of my life there. Once you're in your own place, you're in your own little world. Have fun.
