Sabai Lodge or Areca Lodge . . .

Recommended Posts

My past few trips to Pattaya were spent at Sabai Lodge and I do love the hotel. This time I want to try something different, though. I heard the Beach View is closed for renovations and I loved their breakfast buffet, so I thinking of trying something new and going to the Areca Lodge. I've heard nothing but great things about the Areca and I know it's close to breakfast buffets, so I may want to go there. Does anyone have any feedback . . . pros or cons? I know the last thread is about the Sabai, so forgive me for being redundant. :o

i just booked the sabai lodge because they were offering low season discounts while the Areca was not. Also the Areca insisted on an up front credit card deposit and full payment 5 days before arrival which i'm not prepared to do.

Maybe if you speak to them nicely they will waive this but i tried and they wouldn't have it.... so, they lost my business, not that that willl worry them too much i think LOL

I took a standard room for 650TB/night April/May planning to stay 3 weeks.

Seemed pretty well organised, fast response to emails and no conditions. Never stayed there before though so we'll have to see.

Sure Sabai Lodge is guestfriendly as the owner also owns Sabai Dee and many other places on Soi 2 - Sabai Inn and the nightclub 2 of those (also Weekender Hotel opposite Sabai Room, 2nd Rd).

I stayed at Dynasty Inn my last two times in Pattaya, but wanted to try a new place, and one with a good pool. This place looked great. I wanted a poolside room, but even the low season rate (which is when I will be there) was more than I wanted to spend. I emailed and asked if they might offer a special rate for someone who wanted to try their place instead of Dynasty. They replied within hours, and for my two week stay, I am basically getting a night free (as compared to the advertised low season rate). I can't wait!!!!

Which hotel gave you this deal: Sabai or Areca?

ummm isn't that the same as getting 50 TB off each night? i mean 50 * 14 = 700 TB

same same.... it think is normal if you are long stay ie over 10 days you can get a discount more or less anywhere!

Areca is the one with the nice pool. BTW how can there be any trouble deciding. The areca is about 25 meters from the Lolitas pattaya. Breakfast, nice rooms nice pool and pipe cleaning a 1 minute walk away.

In many ways I agree. I liked Areca quite a bit. I was thinking of staying at Sabai Inn again just because they are about 100 baht cheaper per day. If I can negotiate a couple of free days I'll do Acera in a heartbeat.

BTW, where is Lolita's? Is it new? I don't remember it being there a year ago.

I edited my post.  Actually, I am staying at Sabai.  I got a poolside room.  Instead of the rate of 2150 Baht I got it for 1950.  So, for my 14 days, I "save" 2800.  Yes, I am spending still twice as much or more than a lot spend for a room, but, for my own reasons, I wanted someting nice this time, but without going off the deep end with my spending.

JB,

Please enlighten me as to how you were able to get the discounted rate at Sabai Lodge (was it for the 14 day stay?).

Also, did you pay the full bill at the end of your stay by credit card? Thanks for the info.

Regards
