JFK (New York) to BKK

Recommended Posts

I wanted to try non-stop Thai air in August, but their prices are about 1200 dollars and up.

Can any one suggest a cheaper ticket on Thai air or another airlines?

Summer prices seem to be high for all carriers from US to Bangkok - high vacation season. $1200 is not bad for that time of year and a non-stop to boot. You could always wait till September when the prices drop until the December high season kicks in.

There are no cheap tickets in August. Prices drop in September and go up in December.

I am currently getting roundtrip fares from Chicago to BKK, for a Nov trip, of around $1000-$1100 USD.

Stops in Tokyo both ways, where I thought I might stay for a while.

But a lot of P4P in Japan is dependent on whether they "accept" westerners.

That sucks! 2guns

Sorry, I digress.

I''m wondering if these fares will go up or down between now and Nov. I'll probably shoot myself in the foot by waiting, and the fares will do nothing but go up between now and then.

Are there seasonal fluctuations that are "typical" between now and then that I can take advantage of?

I am guessing the flights in Nov should go down. That is still a LONG 8 months from now and they should have some fall specials. School will be out and it is now a high travel period. Only thing that could change everything is the price of oil.

The price of jet fuel had damn near doubled in the last year. Cheap airfares are going to be hard to find. Last year I booked Philly to BKK June departure for $1KUSD. This year same time cost is $1400USD.
