Hallo Big O1, by coincidence I have recently been looking up same info , am planning a trip there myself next week, I have read that they sell Nike, Camel and other original goods at factory prices, so will be interested to take a look, if I am correct from soi 8 you would need to travel toward Jomtien, taking a L-turn onto Theprasit Rd at the bottom of Buddha hill ( just before Jomtien) I believe it is at the very end of Theprasit Rd on the R-hand side, hope this helps, cheers, lou

Directions are correct , it is right next to Tesco/Lotus at junction of Sukhumvit and Thepassit Road if you need a landmark.

The better way to hire a taxi, as it is far away.

If you ribe by motocycle:

Go to the direction to Jomtien, between Viewtalay 1 and Viewtalay 2 ( after the Buddha Hill ) are the Thepprasit road. Turn left on it ( you may stop for a delicious roast duck on the corner ) and ride until near to Sukhumwit road ( Tesco lotus ) The Outlet Mall will on the right side. Try the XXL shop ( I'm a small guy, but anyway found a lot for me ) there are the best deals. ( Gap shirt for 250BHT, branded jeans 200-500BHT for example )

Here's another route from Soi 8. Walk up to the corner of 2nd Rd and Centeral Pattaya Rd (Pattaya Klang) Jump on a baht bus heading east towards Sukhumvit Highway and get off at Sukhumvit (10 baht). Then jump on a baht bus heading south and get off at the Mall located on the corner of Sukhumvit and Thepassit Rd (10 baht).

hire motorbike taxi if your a newbie, pretty easy to get screwed up with baht bus routes.

That sounds like a good place to visit/shop. Anyone know if there are wholesale outlets for Thai goods - I have some folks interested in importing goods for sale in Los Angeles.

I have friend ex Oakland Ca whose missus came to Thailand and bought a load of gear up around Chiang Mai, I am asking the question about how is she doing with it and I am not getting much in the way of response so maybe this is not working out too good.

On the question of wholesale in general I have never been able to find anywhere to buy nic nac type goods cheaper than in the tues/fri market in Pattaya even by visiting Chatuchuk and Sampeng, I have asked the question many times on various forums: 'How do I buy nail clippers (for example) at a wholesale price so that I can compete with the street vendors everywhere (who look to have low resources) that are selling them for 20bht. I have never received a good answer. Like if you go to place x and buy 1000 pieces you will pay 10 baht.

If you are talking Arts and Crafts type goods I would think Chatachuk Weekend market would be a good place to start, failing going to the areas where the goods are produced.

In other words a mystery as usual! TiT.

Fr Lust,

Last week they were near completing an outlet place for OTOP (One Tambon, One Product) goods on the by-pass between Banglamung and Chonburi. I went to the OTOP exhibition and fair at the Impact Arena in November and the goods were of a high quality and incredibly well-priced.

If you are just after trinkets, try the Lukdod shop on the soi opposite the bus terminus on Pattaya Nua.

Tom
