I'll be arriving in a few days at BKK (Eva Airlines from Taipei) and I'd like to get a sim card for my phone before I leave the airport. I've never seen a store selling sim cards on the long walk from the gate through customs and then to the meeting area. Did I just miss the store?

I'd like to make some calls from the taxi or make some calls to find my driver if I get in late and he's not there.

HI if there is no shop there you can use a payphone to call your cab if your late,as for making calls in the cab just get him to pullover somewhere on the way and buy a sim card.Or you can use the cabbies phone he wont mind if you tip him,or just throw him a few baht for calls.

jtiger,

I think if you go up to the departure area after coming out of customs there may be places which might be able to fix you up. I recall spending a hour or so in that area killing time about 2 years ago. At the time I had not joined the mobile phone army so I am not sure if I am correct. But it should only take a minute or two to check it out. :beer

Thanks for all the good suggestions.

And to the person who asked, since this was an airport related question I felt it fit best fit in

this topic area.

there are fone kiosks when you walk out of arrivals but they are only interested in renting a mobile to you.

Go up to departures, far north end of term one before the escalators, there is a shop by the entrance going outside where i usually purchase a prepay card to top up b4 leaving los. Im sure they will sell the sim cards as well.
