My first time in the golf section!

OK, I'm a golfer and play at least once a month but I've never played in LOS. Most of my travel partners have never played before. Are there any Par 3 or 9 hole courses near pattaya? Just looking for a simple and convenient place to play with some new hackers.

We will need a course that rents clubs, shoes, etc.

These are first time golfers so just looking for a fun daytime activity,,,,,,,besides Soi6! Thanks

Easy.

The Asia Hotel (everyone knows it) has a 9 hole par 3 course that is very good. A round will cost you a few hundred Baht and everything you need is for hire at the entrance. Even though it is a par three some of the holes are very challenging with up to 170 yards. Any time of the day is OK but try for mornings or late afternoons when the weather is cooler as it does not get much wind and is pretty sheltered.

Let us know how you get on.

eddydb,

As for short course golfing, I would do ad Hilly stated. Asia Hotel sounds good.

However, I would encourage you to get out on a long course as they are numerous and nice in Pattaya. I prefer short golfing myself, but in recent years I've have taken to 18 holes. By playing long courses, you will have the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, and see new courses / places.

Bring your own clubs.

Apologize for getting off the point of your question, but encourage you to go on a long course and think you will enjoy it once you meet new people, see how affordable it is, ect... I'll play with you when I'm in Pattaya...should be in town late October early November.

Here's places that you may choose to meet-up for golf:

Mulligan's Bar SP1, sign-up on board for Sun, Tues, Thurs, nice European guys and Bruce seems to do alot of the planning there...they play regularly.

Lewinskies SP1, generally Americans who golf on Wed, Fri.

Alamo Bar, Soi 8, speak w/ Gary, the owner.

Queen Victoria Inn, Soi 6.

Sugar Shack SP2, Brian, Mon, Wed, Fri.

All the best,

Bill

Thanks Hilly,,,,the Asia Hotel sounds perfect.

WB, I do prefer long courses but not going to take first time golfers out to one. I live next to 3 very challenging 18 hole courses,,,,,so I get my fill of golf. But thanks for the info. We will be in Ptty end of Oct to Nov,,,,,,but you a beer!

If you want a good, cheap driving range, head up Pattaya Klang to sukhumvit road, look to your right and on the other side of the road you will see a Korean run driving range. automatic ball machines and only 25 baht for 40 balls. Ideal for new golfers. Also another range in pattaya South and one off 3rd road in pattaya north.
