sort of crappy old fashioned airport. Been there many times in the last 10 years.

Last time was in 2003 and I believe there was some wifi access somewhere.

Not much help I know - but just saying don´t keep your hopes up. The airport is no where near as high tech as the rest of the country.

partyanimal -

I go to Taipei 3-4 times a year, and have not heard of the free showers - Can you tell me where they are?

As for Internet access, I am usually so beat from a 16 hour flight, that all I can think of is getting through customs and to Taipei. A shower would be healpfull though...

When you get off of most planes from the USA (don't know the letter code for the wings), there is a waiting area and a nearby men's room that has the free showers.

There might be others too.

After the shower there's a long walk to a totally different wing that has the flight from tapei to bkk or tapei-hong kong-bkk.

What airline do you fly? EVA Air and China Airlines fly from different terminals. If you fly CI and someone else flies BR, they're gonna be looking for a while! :clueless

In the past I've said that TPE had to be one of the worst international airports in the world. However, in January of this year China Air started using the new Terminal Two. Night and Day difference from Terminal One. If you are coming from the U.S., and a few other countries, your plane will park at Terminal Two. The China Air gates are not far from a small train that connects the terminals and drops you off not far from their gates in Terminal One. MUCH better than the old system of walking from one end to the other of Terminal One to make your connecting flight.

If there is public internet service available, I've never found it. It is available in some airline lounges.

In the terminal that EVA uses (sorry I do not know which number that is) there is internet access in a lounge upstairs that you have to pay to get into. When I asked (several years ago) it cost over $30US.
