hi all , when in town this year i stayed at the lek hotel for 2 months but at just under 40000baht it was rather expensive so as I am planning on a 4 month trip next year I am looking to take a condo.I looked at the Diana estates on soi buakow and was surprised at the value offered and may stay there but I was wondering after reading some posts on the board if the members know of anything similar only things required are a pool,a/c and cable tv and of course pattaya not jomtiem

ps I was quoted from 8000baht upwards at diana estates +utilities for low season may to august

Hi sinbinjack,The location might not be to your liking but check out www.viewtalayplace.com.I like you wanted to stay at diana after seeing there website which was posted on here by cheshire tom i think www.soleildesiam.com,The rooms are definatly good value i got the missus to phone for me but they dont have 7 rooms during christmas <laugh.

Viewtalayplace is located in naklua but easy to get into town and back with the new minibus service which run every 30 mins i think.http://www.pattayamail.com/631/news.shtml#hd1 although i would probably only use this to get into town but songatheaws will be plentiful from the hotel and as we will be in a group we can charter the taxi to where we want to go for around 20 baht each. The missus went to look at the rooms yesterday and said they were excelent value starting at 7,900 a month, and it was nice and quite which might not be a bad thing for a long stay i would say you could get it for 7000 or less a month for your length of trip and being off season. All rooms apparantly have ubc which is good if you fancy a night in to charge the batteries and she said the rooms were very clean, the pool looks great with plenty of seating check pics on there site.

As you probably know there is plenty of entertainment venues around soi 2 and 3 and i myself prefer this end of town which has everything south pattaya has but on a smaller scale and somewhat more relaxed imo and if you want to head to south pattaya its a short ride away.

She is going there in a couple of days to pay a deposit to hold the rooms for us if you are interested in this place pm me and i will get her to ask how much for 4 months off season.I emailed them about a month ago asking how much per room per month checking in end of nov and a deposit would not be a problem. To which he replied we are very busy this time of year please email again at the start of november.Dont you just love thai buisness sense :chogdee2 .Good luck.

Hi Bigmofo! :chogdee2

Sounds like a good place! I looked in their website but it doesn't say anything about water and electric, if that is included in that price or not? They also mentioned High Speed Internet access for a special charge, is that wireless connection in the rooms so you can use your own laptop, or do you have to go downstairs to use a computer in the lobby?

Iam pretty sure electric is extra but even then it would be a good deal.

I will phone the missus tommorow so she can find out about the internet access.

I have also pmed a member and asked if he could check it out, so if he can hopefully some more details will be available.

Good luck.

I dont know whether these are good prices as i have no need for the internet ,the cost is 2000 a month or 150 baht a day .As for the electric and water it is extra so at a guess will cost you about 1500 good luck.

Hi Bigmofo!

Thanks for the information!

Internet rate sounds a bit steep, last place I stayed they had free wireless connection in my room, but the room rate is very competitive, so I'm sure I will go to have a look next year! Thanks again!

The Diana Estate is excellent value with 2 swimming pools and free use of the gym.

The main letting agent there is called ProPro. They have quite a lot of rooms for about 8,000. Also the Diana Milenium House have a few rooms on the estate to rent.

Stayed at the Areaca Lodge for my previous vists but since I will be staying for a month on one of my next trips then a condo looks to be a good idea ... which ones have wireless or broadband internet access? + how much? Thanks SNN

thanks harry dash I did expect to end up at the diana estates but was just trying to find out about the other options do you know if any of the condos have UBC +sophon or is it only sophon and do any of the rooms have DVDs and one last thing how much do they charge you for utilities

I doubt whether any of the condos would have UBC. I pay 1500 a month for mine. They all have sophon however. No DVDs as far as I know.

I usually spend about 1000 per month on electric and 400 on water, but if you use the aircon a lot the bill will be quite a bit higher.I think the electric is about 3-4 baht per unit used.

Hi everbody! Sorry about my German-English! They have a very good office in Diana Estate. The name is Diana-Oasis, in the coffee shop near the small pool. Before I stayed in Propro or Solei, but the rooms are very old and not much service. Now Oasis has all new rooms with LCD, DVD, WIFI, Brekfast and much more. Also they have very good and cheap (electric) Aircon. Very happy customer and very busy, even low season. Many customers from other office change to them already! Look in Diana-Estate.com or they have Diana-Oasis.com Happy holiday to all! BR. :allright
