Last week a specially selected field was brought together to play in a warm up event for the RideHer Cup. The event in question was the Pattaya Asia ProAm Classic.

The field consisted of MM, Hammer and the only Pro in the field, Doghaus.

Competition was fierce, and Doghaus insisted on bringing a spare pair of shorts with him. He said it was in case he got a hole in one ! :D but I think it was something to do with what happened to him at his Birthday party, and he is now scared of what might happen to him in crowded places ! :P

The final scores were a big surprise. :D

Hammer (Team Europe) +21

Doghaus (Team Europe) +24

MM (Team America & Canada) +29

I think Doghaus was still in shock, about how much the Asia Hotel were trying to charge for everything. It was a nice small, but challenging course, but they do try and rip you off on the prices.

I do apologise for the delay in this report, but I’ve been waiting for the picture, that Doghaus took, of me celebrating my win, which he never sent !

The results of this tournament are normally a good indicator for the RideHer Cup itself, which means, Team Europe are gong to kick Team America & Canada's arse this year ! :D

Is that net scores after handicap, or net Stableford points?

Hammer

The photo is waiting for you with Ben on the memory stick that I left with him. he was meant to bring it to Bangkok but he left it in Pattaya! Just give him a call and he will send it to you. A fun day and looking forward to a re-match. I think I over-clubbed with the shot that went straight over the green into the tennis courts and onward into the car park!

Hammr, you will be a fine addition to the European team. Keep practising!

I'll try to get some lessons before the rematch. It was fun. I'm also having a dress made so I can get my 36 handicap.

Asia is a 9 home par three course and we play it quite often. The 4th is particularly challenging as the silly sods planted bloody great big trees in the middle of the fairway and there is no club in my bag capable of getting over them and hitting the green. I assume that the scores mentioned were for over par so doggie managed to get round in 51 strokes. I played it last week and managed a 46 doggie. lol. Anyway the day after that I played with Tony against Lobin and Lobert on a proper course and got thrashed. I really do not get this game.

Who said Asia was a rip off? At 440 Baht for 2, I reckon it is a cheap one and a half hours fun on a course that the green keepers think is actually a bloody nuisance to have to look after. The tees are ankle deep in grass and the fairways made of that horrible stuff that looks like grass but bites the club. Some of the greens would be better suited to a crazy golf course. Other than that it is awful but fun.
