Lost in space,

My experience of Bangkok Pattaya hospital is the quite opposite re cost.

Managed to break a bone in my foot earlier this year.

Saw the doctor,xrays,plastercast,crutches,rehabilatation,follow up and remove cast-total bill baht 3850 !!

 

Second experience-partner gave birth by planned C section in October,4 days 3 nights in a suite better than any hotel,all surgeons fees,nursing care,medicines,food for her and ME,follow ups-total bill Baht 39,990 (a fixed rate)

I expected extras "Thai Style" re the bill but nothing at all.

Superb care.

As i said good ,bad ,& sad i am glad you were one of the lucky ones.

the thing is you can not pick em,

out patient i have found not so bad ,and they normally have set price for births for thais,

but you will not get me there o,night.

Sure,you will always get good and bad tales but it should be noted that the Pattaya Expats Club are affiliated to the hospital and I believe offer a discount there as well.

I work here in Thailand and I have a story anout this Hospital.

 

This guy (expat) fell 6 foot of a ladder and hurt his back. He went to BPH and after 2 days of, tests, xrays, drips, pills and all the bullshit it cost the company, wait for this, 119,000 bath. He returned to work and he is fine. Rip Off. He was not in pain after the fall but wanted to get checked out to make sure.

 

What more can I say. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately he would have almost certainly received a CT Scan for that type of fall.These ct scans cost in excess of 75,000 baht a go.

Expensive but dont even try guessing at the cost in the USA !!

I had to take sasa my daughter to soi 4 inter,at 5am yesterday very high fever and pains [gastro iter]they keeped her there all day room and drips and all, till 8pm ,6,000baht everything,the doc said take her home, which we did,and i was very happy, for sasa and going home,

sasa had the same thing 18 months ago,and i took her to bkk p hos ,after 24 hrs she was running around like a blue ass fly.

but the doc said keep her in fo 2 more days [being nieve and knowing sasa was insured] ,i said yes ,the bill was 20,000 for the 3 days ,but i only got back 8,000

from the insurance as there was too many things not claimable .

Another reason why i will not go back.

Well , back in april '05 I got hurt scuba diving , a freak accident on the way out of the water getting on the boat, see while we were down on the khrum (wreck off of pattaya)a large ocean freighter came by , not knowing this as I got to the boat ,threw my fins on board grabbed the ladder and as I did the ass end of the boat came up and when it came back down , I slammed my left side into the ladder of the boat thus , breaking 2 ribs, cracked 2 ribs, and badly brusing the rest of my left side. as soon as I got back tot he dock off to bkk-pattaya hospital I went, I limped in , was immediately seen by a doctor, xrayed,and because of the possibiity of a punctured lung stayed all night , thus leaving the next am, upon leaving all meds , xrays, doctor, private room was all about 6500 baht, came back the next day as I knew I was getting worse , but anyone that knows who has had cracked ribs they hurt worse than broken ribs,so again xrayed ,cat scanned, wrapped up, and given the "good " meds so I could rest again they kept me all night as it wasnt clear if I was in danger(I am a big guy)so the next am I was released to go to hotel and rest, the bill a mere 7500 baht, so I spent most of the rest of my trip using my cell and calling my girls , and told them to just saddle up and away we went!!! NO PAIN, well NO PAIN!!!! I think you might have possibily gotten a greedy clerk at that window(?) now again thats my feelings........
