Hi there, I've booked my first three nights in Bangkok with hotelclub http://hotel.travelbag.co.uk

They charge you directly, and you print out a voucher to show at the hotel. I've read some posts about hotels not honoring reservations etc.... and I'm getting a bit worried. Has anyone tried them and how did it work for you?

thnx.

Used them once about 3 years ago for hotel in Bkk. Had no problems.

Yes, no problem, used them for two hotels in Macau and Hong Kong last week via www.RatesToGo.com which uses hotel.com to book but has excellent rates.

No, i found cheaper prices with asiarooms.com but then i read dodgy reports on them in various forums. It wasnt a huge price diff. So, I reckon if i gotta yell at someone on the phone it's better if she understands english.

I've used asiarooms.com a few times when they were cheapest with no problem. But sometimes they're cheapest, sometimes not. It's always worth checking 10 or so sites when you've decided on the hotel. Precision Reservations can be pretty good.

Hotel Club gave me a confirmation number then the following day sent me an email saying that the hotel I had selected was full and they would not be able to honor the reservation.

Make sure you have a confirmed reservation.

Forgot to mention earlier, I used Directrooms last time again for Bkk hotel. They were excellent and were very particular in getting all details correct. For the place I stayed they were also the cheapest.

Thanx jball. Well they've charged my CC and sent me receipts and booking confirmation to print out etc so. It seems some hotels get confirmed directly, others not.

I feel assured now that we will be ok. At least in BKK, staying at Amari St James which from the sound of it is a nice hotel.
