Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Hi all.

I enquired via - sawadee.com - for accomodation at Areca Lodge - deluxe, pool view, double - 1190baht a night.

I asked for quote for 30 days, specifically requesting a discount for one month.

I received a reply stating the room is available - but they cannot offer a discount and the price is - 35700baht

1. Is this unreasonable? If I called the hotel directly, would I have more luck? If I just booked three days to start with, intending to negoiate upon my arrival, can I be reasonably assured the room will be available for one month?

2. Does 'double' mean one large bed or twin single beds?

I arrive end of May.

Many thanks guys and girls.

I think it may be wise to book for 7 days in the first instance - then if I like it, I can always extend - providing the room is available!

Gym is a must for me - as I need my daily self-esteem boost!

Any views on what 'double' means?

Good thinking! Plus, if you do move hotels you will undoubtedly visit "new" places during your daily meanderings. Personally, I don't like to stay in the same hotel for more than 2 weeks. New Hotel = new soi = new sanuk :beer

Yes- 7 days it is then!

Can you remember how many digits - the in-room safe had? Obviously, one needs at least four.

Thanks
