It's quite possible you are doing it wrong. There's a button at the top of the page that's says search. Click on it and it will open up two menu's with one with a drop down and one for a key member lookup. I chose search all forums for Globetrotter and in the second portion Second type in Bazzap and click the match exact member or something like that, there's only one choice below so you can't make a mistake. Then hit search came up with 3 in Trip Reports, I skimmed the bottom one and I think that is the report that is being referred to.

I stayed in room 310 in November 2005. Thiis what I wrote in my TR

Globetrotter Hotel Pattaya

Here is the text of some emails and PMs that I sent to several boardies. I think it should cover most questions.

I found the Globetrotter quite OK as long as you get the large rooms of

which there are two both on the top floor (3rd floor). The other rooms seem quite small.

It is more a guesthouse than a hotel (no phones in the rooms for instance) When the power goes off you also lose your water as it gets pumped up to the rooms.

The girls love the rooms because of their size, the large elevated bed and the large balcony that overlooks the beer bars and beach rd below. The stairs aren't popular but you do get a laugh from the girls about it. The bed is a bit hard. Only two pillows.

The bathroom is basic but acceptable. No bath. I got 4 towels a day by leaving the cleaning ladies a 20B tip.

Air con power is extra. Worked out about 80B a day. The air con worked well. They also have a in room safe which held my laptop, DSLR camera and passport bag easily

Lars the owner speaks better English than I do. If you are security conscious then think again as there is easily accessed platforms at the back of the building and it would be a cinch to break in. That said I felt perfectly safe there and nothing went missing

I would stay there again

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make sure you get a room at the front with a balcony. On the way up the stairs I went (Climbed?) past a room at the back and it looked quite small and had no windows. The large room might have spoilt me though. On my way home I stayed at the Majestic Suites in BKK. Now they are small (But very nice).

Actually to add to the security you have to come in through a back door after midnight that has a deadlock on it. They don’t open it up till about 0800 in the morning so if you have a friend that leaves early you have to go and unlock the door to let them out. You also have to take the key with you all the time when you are out and don’t get back till late.

There is a fridge and mini bar and the costs are cheap. All the rooms seem to have the large elevated beds.

The stairs were not that bad but after a week of wine, women & song it was my worn out body that was the problem.

The restaurant is OK and quite popular. Actually I ended up using the back door all the time, as sometimes when the restaurant is full it is hard to get out.

I absolutely love the location. Beach Rd only 50 yards away. Restaurants (tequila Reef, pig & whistle, Rosies) are very close. Two doors up there is a place called the Seaside Inn serving English food and it always seemed to have customers so must be OK. Right behind the Globetrotter is a sportsman’s bar called the Football Club. Run by an English bloke named Colin. Big TV screens, air conned and pool table. Great place to watch the sports as I did several times. Internet cafe, cheap laundry, travel agents, tailors, doctor, beer bars are mere metres away. I never found the place noisy as you just close the balcony door.

And you are so close to soi 7 & 8. Soi 6 is handy as well. Tops is about 400 yards away. Plus no crossing 2nd Rd

Very few downsides. No pool, no phones maybe a tad overpriced for what you really get compared to the Flippers etc

Hope this helps a bit

I stayed there again last month in the other large room 305. Again it was ok for me. This time they had a pedestal fan in the room which the girls certainly liked and so do I.

Cheers
