Hi

I usually fly EVA Deluxe from Seattle to LOS, but their prices seem to jump around a lot. I have paid from $800 to 1300 us dollars. I just checked and the best I could find now was $2000. I guess I may have to fly economy or try another airline. I am looking at travel dates in mid July.

I hate the thought of flying economy. I am not a huge guy but I want to get there fairly well rested.

I was wondering what other airlines Fly to BBK with reasonable prices. I looks like China Air is an option for about $800 economy and $1200 for Business. I assume the business is worth the upgrade cost? I see another post were most people like China Air. Is this my best option?

Are there any other airlines I should consider?

thanks

I used to fly from the west coast to Taipei every month, and I sometimes took China Air. It was O.K., but not near as good as the other Asian Airlines. The biggest thing that I would check on is the arrival and departure times of China Air Vs. Eva Air. Eva Air arrives about noon while China Air arrives about Midnight from Hawaii.

Coming back is the same - China leaves early in the morning, while Eva leaves about noon. It's no fun getting up at 3 in the morning in Pattaya to make a 07:00 departure.

You might want to go to China Air's web site and check their schedule for different days of the week for departure and return times. They have

a flight leaving BKK at around 2PM and another around 5PM. As to which is

the better airline, they all have the pros and cons and I, except Singapore Air,

cannot really tell the different between various Asian airlines, especially in Business Class. I would match China Air's business to any of the others.

If your trip days are flexible you should check the EVA "Hot fares" on their website. They ususally go out a month or two. If you've flown them regularly hopefully you've joined their mileage plan. They charge 20,000 points each way for a one class upgrade, so you can buy an economy seat and get into Deluxe or buy Deluxe and go business.

Also you could check flights out of Vancouver. July and August are prime times on EVA so it is hard to get a deal in that time frame.

John, I've taken that route many a times .....

I dont know whats up with the "gouging" you fares especially since July is hot season over there...

Lately there are a lot of airlines flying out of Seatac to Asia.. United, Delta, NW air,

At times they use their logo but it ends up being NW air or China but who cares...

I have flown out of San Fran LA as well as Vancouver. If you can use Seatac stick with it. Even if its a hundred cheaper to go the other routes... There is time involved and a lot of check points to go through etc.. Just slow and a pain.

NW airlines flies over there with 1 hour stop in Narita daily.. Check thier website NWA.com and punch in dates.. A key is to check day before day after method too.

http://nwa.com/

For Eva give these places a call and ask them to run the numbers:

Holiday NW tours inc. Big name but just a ticket mill . Ive been inside.

Its in Mercer Island. 1 800 456 9189 or 206 232 8989

John this is a bunch of asian ladies workiing there. I would really say give this a shot. They can be busy on the phone but just go through with it!!

Also try through E mail here : Just type in what your looking for they get back quick!! tell them check all airlines.
