OK, so it's a bit early to start this topic, but, using your miles to fly free means planning early.

I was planning the next trip out and trying to decide where to spend Loy Krathong and noticed that the dates of the cup and the holiday may overlap.

Is the cup still to be played on the first Monday? That would be November 6 with the sign up party on the 5th.

Also, the last night of Loy Krathong is November 5.

Are these dates correct? If so, would the holiday affect the turnout for the tournament?

Or maybe the tournament will affect the turnout for Loy Krathong :clap2

The 2006 RideHer Cup will take place on Monday 6th November. The venue this year is Burapha. There is some information on the FLB Bar web site and I will be opening a topic here in the next few weeks for registrations.

I don't think that Loy Krathong will affect the entries. It might enhance the registration evening on the Sunday.

Look forward to meeting up with you again in Pattaya.

Definitely count me in again this year! I don't have the flights booked just yet, but I will the moment I get finished paying the CC bill for this trip!

And just as a tease for all of you, I had the distinct pleasure of playing a bit of golf with doghaus on this trip, and as soon as I can get to my own laptop and transfer the pictures from my camera, you will all see irrefutable photographic evidence of our insistance on strict adherence to the Rules!

I have been waiting patiently for the photos!

It took all of 17 holes and a fair few Asahis before we finally saw a 7 handicapper with his breeks round his ankles!

Let's see the evidence!

  • 2 months later...

I am a relative newbie - took my first trip in May and I am returning on Oct 30th through Nov 10. I planned my trip so I could play some golf and see the tourny is on the 6th. I am an American and would like to play. I have a couple of questions. I don't hold a handicap. I only play four or five times a year because of my work but still can shoot in the low 80's. How do I get in without the handicap card. Can you rent clubs at the club and will I have any trouble registering on Sunday?

Willys,

Lack of handicap card is not an issue for the Rideher Cup. It is a fun event and many participants(including myself) do not have an official handicap and in these cases handicaps are allocated on an honour system by the organiser.

Rental clubs are available - best to let Doggie know beforehand so that he can organise.

Again, registration on the evening before the event (Sunday) is just a matter of turning up at FLB around 8:00pm.

Keep an eye on the golf section of this Board over the next few weeks because I believe Doggie will soon be setting out further details.

Hi Willys

Good to hear you will be around at the time of the RideHer Cup. I will be posting full details about the tournament including how to register next week.

We can sort out rental clubs for you - that can be done if you let us know at least a week before the event.

Regarding your handicap, can you please send me your last 4 scores if that is possible. I need to know the yardage of the course as well. I will then estimate a handicap for you.

Cheers

Doggie
