queen vic or the nelson?

been having a quick look at the hotel reviews section and like

the look of the nelson and the queen vic,both score well so

has anyone stayed in either of them recently?

Check out www.tropicalberts.com Brand new and around the corner from the Queen Vic. Bert used to manage the Vic. I haven't stayed there but I did check out the rooms. Excellent value for the money. I may stay there next trip.

Stayed at the Queen Vic last November. Decent rooms, especially the best rooms at the top of the house. Vic himself also a source of good advice and information. Good staff as well.

Only minor downside is late homecoming up the rear fire escape - not very salubrious...

All in all, good value.

i have stayed at the queen vic

four times the rooms are good value for money

and a safe in room plus wi-fi

the staff are very friendly the food is good

i have re booked for xmas

I stayed at the Lord Nelson.... I did a hotel review.

 

OK hotel... I rated it as a 7 but that could have been on the high side.

 

It is an OK place but nothing fantastic. The Soi 6 location was fine but I would rather stay elsewhere and visit Soi 6 late after noons or early evenings.

 

I am looking for a different hotel for my next visit.

Both QV and LN nave same type of room but the QV has a restaurant which LN has not and prices are the same. TB's is very good but I think he has only 6 or 7 rooms, opened in Jan. this year top of Soi 6/1 2 road end.

Stayed at QV for 5 months up to End Jan this year. Then there were no in room safes though i heard he was getting Electronic Safes put in rooms, as for Wi Fi there was none and no word of it being installed.

My favorite of all the pubs is Rosie O Gradys, very nice rooms, the more expensive ones having DVD players in.

 

Great value only 650 - 750 per night.

 

Very well recommended and Soi 7 being a great location.
