Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Has anyone stayed at or have information about the Diana Dragon Apartments? There is very little info on their web site and the review of one of the Diana hotels on this site is not very flattering.

Would like to find an apartment somewhere in that area but not interested in the 20,000 baht places. I may have to find a place farther away from the action to keep the price down. Any apartment suggestion welcome.

thanks, Jay

Everyone has different tastes and expectations. I can tell you that all along Soi Bukhow and Soi LK Metro there are tons of hotels and guesthouses that range from 5500B a month on up and all in varying quality and amenities.

The best way to find them is to book a hotel for your first two nights in town. Have a walk around the area and go in and look at the various rooms to see what meets your needs.

Cheers,

Mark

Its not somewhere id like to stay,IMO cheap and quite nasty.

How long is your trip because there are places much cheaper for longer stays.

WOW that was fast. I think I know a few decent places I can get under 10K B. But they don't have the location.

WOW fast replies pattysteve, OnMyWay and Bracken! I am staying four months.

I think I know a few nice places I can stay under 10K B but they don't have the location. Just though I would try and look for a better location but that probably means $$$.

I will be there during high season so would like to have something booked. But the idea to look around after I arrive might work also. I did that with hotels in January and had no problem finding rooms.

But if anyone has apartment suggestions please let me know. I want a basic clean studio or one bedroom. In room Internet for my laptop would be a big plus.

thanks, Jay

Thanks for the info everyone. Please keep it coming. I did send lekatai an Email asking some question but still interested in other options (a kitchenette would be nice for a long stay).

The problem with the Diana Dragon web site is it does not tell you much of anything. All you see is a picture of a bed. I did send Diana Dragon an Email before I came to Pattaya last time. But they took two weeks to respond and I had already booked another apartment by the time I received a reply. They did respond with the following:

***Diana Dragon***

Very sorry to reply late. A studio apartment at the Diana Dragon is 8,000 baht per month including cleaning twice per week but excluding water and electric. (water 300 baht /month , electric 5 baht / unit)

If this is acceptable we require a deposit 2,000 baht and have attached our deposit form for your attention. Please complete the form and return with your confirmation.

I sent them another Email two days ago trying to get more specific info. I may have to send them a FAX. Although the one opinion given in this thread makes me think I should continue looking.

Thanks, Jay

Kevin and Jin, the propriators at Jasmine Mansion are in the process of renovationing a building for long stay occupants. Their hotel is reviewed in the hotel section here and if I was staying four months Kevin would be a good starting point for a long stay place. You might consider contacting them depending on the time frame of your stay.

kpm217@yahoo.com

Or alternately, you might consider staying there the first couple days and searching on the ground.

As OnMyWay has said, many of the best buys will not generally be available on the web. The one bedroom apartment I'm staying in for the month in September @ 15k has no e-mail or website. You just have to do a little looking around on the ground. And that's kind of interesting in itself as you found out before.

Good luck,

~Sa-teef
