Flew with etihad last year at same time of year for about £400 so was hoping there would be more of the same prices this year.

I flew on the 28th December last year.

You probably should check flight prices to Singapore and Hong Kong--If you leave on Christmas Day, for example, you might get a decent price.

Then fly to BKK on a low cost carrier.

UK Guys

Eva air have a promotion on their web site for outbound travel 28-31st December (I Think) a snag is you must return after 16th january.

I believe it is £570+ econ about 720+ elite and 1250+ PL.

The Premium Laurel seems a good deal for people not short of a bob or two.

Thinking about it OURS travel PL fares were reasonable around Christmas.

Just had a quick look, OURS 700+ for Christmas, try via HKG with Oasis air the new airline

when I booked my flight in MARCH to leave anytime after christmas ,the best price I got was 699euro

with EVA, KLM had the same price but it leaves 31 dec that was the best price.before or just after was a couple of 100 euro more.

that price is before all the additions end price was 849 euro these flights are from amsterdam by the way.

If you see a seat you better grab it fast.

putting your dates into travelsupermarket.com brings up air china to bkk on 24th december and return in january at 455 pounds.

might be worth inputting your dates and see what comes up.

everyone finishes work on 22/23rd december so those two dates are difficult anyway.

you may want to ask yourself why it is so cheap ......... big difference between china airlines and air china.

As long as the plane has wings, wheels and seats and gets me to Thailand i do not give a fuck what airline it is.............

Second hand info here ....

Well Air China should meet your exacting standards here (just) :eyecrazy Provided that you are not too concerned with possibly missing out on a day or so of your holiday, or return to work; Hanging around waiting for delayed/cancelled departures, and can sleep for up to 12 hours on "freezing" benches at Peking airport ! (And he was flying Biz !!)

If you are in the UK give West east Travel a call 0870 220 1001

The problem is that 22/23 and (assuming) return around 5th Jan are the peak travel dates as it fits school holidays in the UK coupled with being high season for Thailand.

You can try travelling on Christmas Day and returning afer the 9th Jan - that may get you a better deal.

The reason is simple, the dates you want will already be very close to capacity so they know they will get the price for the few remaining seats. Last year was definitely cheaper as people were still not yet fully confident about getting on the planes or going to Thailand for one reason and another.

If you want to travel at Christmas it almost always is better to book as early as possible - about March.

I get around the high price problem by booking my tickets from Thailand. So travelling to Thailand mid December and coming back in early Jan costs me around £500 to £550 return. Plus, I can change both outbound and inbound dates at no charge.
