I've stayed at the Sabaii Inn and found for about 1,500 baht per night it was extremely nice, and I would recommend it to anyone at that price. However, I just got a quote back for the suite during DEC/JAN at 3,000B per night. :D I've never stayed at the Suite at Sabaii (didn't even know they had one). Anyone stay there? Is it worth 3K? :thumbup

You got robbed, if you would have booked off their internet site you would have paid half that. I would not pay 3000 baht to stay in the Sabai Inn ever. <grin <grin I stayed there last year and paid 850 baht a night.

I was jst wondering if anyone stayed at the Sabaii Inn Suite before? No mention of it in reviews. I might be wrong about the 1500 rate as I had prepaid long before I got there. But the 3K baht rate is a recent quote from them, and for that price I would expect a LOT!

Has anyone stayed in their "suite"?? <grin

From memory I believe you did pay a high rate to stay there because you were on here a while ago complaining about it. <grin :D <grin Sorry I never have stayed in the suite there but it seems a bit much for the Sabai Inn, I am sure you could find a better place for that money else where.

Went back through deleted emails and found I paid 1K Baht per night in June/July for standard w/breakfast. Never went to breafast! I still think I overpayed, but not by as much as I originally thought. I think the rates have gone up for 2007. Still, IMO a very nice hotel for the price!

We paid 850 baht for a deluxe room in august, standard was 700- booked online thru the hotel. Only difference is the bath, tea making facilities and hairdryer provided for deluxe.

We have stayed there twice last year. But the place seems to have deteriorated with each visit. Noisy with slamming of doors, loud chatter and a less desirable clientele. Granted it is in a good location, there are other hotels which offer better value for your baht.

Shop around when you arrive to check out the surrounding environment before you take the plunge! :party

Sure you don't mean Sabai Lodge, those prices don't sound right for Sabai Inn, if it is Inn no way would I pay those prices.

Same owner for both hotels (and Sabai Resort), Sabai Inn and Lodge have same standard and normally same prices.

I used to stay at the Sabai Inn for around 60-90 nights per year since it first opened in Sep '99.

I was paying 700 Baht for a standard room (w/o ABF) up until last Xmas when they asked for 1,000 Baht which I declined.

I've stayed in the suite for 4 nights when I was having a couple of parties. It's on the top floor and is basically just two adjoining rooms; one is laid out identical to the superior rooms the other is laid out as a lounge. It cost me 2,300 baht per night but there are much better appointed suites in the area for similar/less than this.

Unfortunately, for me, the hotel has become a victim of its own success and, as a previous poster pointed out, the yobbish behaviour of some of the guests it now attracts seems to be the norm rather than the exception. One of the downsides of making recommendations on the net nowadays (same, same as trying to get a dental appointment with Dr Aree

That said, the hotel is spotless and offers great value for money (outside of the peak season) as well as having a great location for a whole load of activities both during the day and the evening.

One final point ......... always book with the hotel direct. If things aren't to your liking you always have the option to check-out and move on. Not the case if you book through an agent.

I stayed in a superior room between Christmas and early New year last year, on the recommendations of fellow boardies. Cost was 1650Bht per night, any other time of year i think it is about 850 Bht.

I found the hotel good value for money for this time of year. I liked the location for a change to the walking street end of town. Used the pool across the road no problems.

If you book, request an outside facing room, inner rooms are quite dark. Also the only downside really was occasionally being woken up because the hall ways are quite noisy, this time of year is party time for lots of people so it didn't bother me greatly.

Big big bonus for me is they do not charge the New Year gala dinner that a lot of hotels charge. I like staying at Areca Lodge but refuse to stay there over New Year as they charge more than a nights stay for the dinner, somewhere near 2000baht from memory, I was told this was a must pay dinner. To me this adds a cost to my stay that is just not needed. To me staying at the Sabai Inn is like getting a night stay for free, plus getting to experience another part of town that many don't bother to see.

Have not stayed in the suite sorry but 3000Bht is what they alsways ask for over the peak season, 2500Bht most other times. I do recommend the superior rooms, big in size and all the amenities one could want including safe.

Hope some of this helps.

The superior and standard room are identical except the standard rooms have a shower as opposed to a bathtub.
