Does anybody know how much a yearly membership is for Tony's? Appreciate any information

I believe Tony's Tennis Club and Fitness Centre have a special of 6000B for twelve months membership.

I believe that membership of TCFC allows you to use Tony's other gyms.

Hi jm49er1,

You're welcome.

I hope you are right and it is a sales pitch as I'd planned to join myself on my return on the 10th December.

Cheers,

Alf.

The signs on the gym now say Bt8000 for one year. His daily rate used to be Bt99. The website says it is still Bt99 per day.

I think the withdrawl of the offer stinks and if I did patronise his places, I would think seriously about continuing to do so.

Could someone please tell the exact location of Tonys tennis and fitness cerntre.

Thanx Steve

The Tennis and fitness center is located on 3rd road approx 100 meters south of Pattaya Tai - if you are traveling up Pattaya Tai from Second road make a right turn on 3rd road and the Tennis Center is on the right hand side approx 100 meters - if you are traveling down Pattaya Tai from Sukhumvet make a left turn onto 3rd road

From what I understand, the 2400 baht offer wasn't withdrawn but modified. The last I heard was that instead of a list of names being turned in and then those people showing up at will and paying their 2400 baht was modified to a focal point had to be selected to collect not only the 100 names but also collect their money and then turn in the name and money to the membership office at Tony's. If I was there full time I would have volunteered to do this (although many might have been leery of giving me their baht), too bad a group of bar owners who have been in business for a long time and might have been trusted didn't take on this task.

The ads that I saw on the tube last week where now quoting 8,000 instead of the prior 6,000 and I believe to get that rate you had to join with another.

Before if you just joined his gym on 3rd RD just north of the Buffalo Bar it was only 4,000 a month while his other place on 3rd Rd and his new Europa fitness club near his disco was 6,000.

As with everything in thailand......you can haggle i guess.

Example:

when i joined for a year i only wanted to pay 6000baht , although to get this offer you technically need 2 to join at the same time. With a bit of smiling and joking, the rule was by-passed!!!!

It was the best 6000baht i have spent.

I am staying across the road from Tonys Gym on Third road.

Currently advertising 8000 baht for 12 months membership, recently next to the add in smaller print is the "2 members to join". After seeing their picture add it is money well spent

There's a special going on (started last Wed) for a LIFETIME membership and pay 15,000 Baht. What makes this special interesting is that it includes ALL of Tony's gyms, Japanese spa, Thai boxing (Tony's Group), and future entities owned by Tony.

This offer may expire in a week or two (no confirmation on exact date). I have the brochure but it is too large to upload...

Does anybody think this is a good offer???

Thats about what I paid for 5 months for my club about 10 years ago. I also saw an advertisement of 4000 baht for a years membership if 2 joined Tonys.

I think the 99 baht 'walk in' price is very good - it allows the tourist flexibility - that's less than £1.50 a session, much cheaper than England.

Can anyone confirm the 'walk in' rule? Is it possible to just turn up with a towel, slap 100 baht down on the counter and get started? Or does one still have to fill in forms and go through health and safety procedures?

There's a card that you fill-out initially, just to specify what kind of membership you're interested in...which I think it is a way for them to contact you for upgrades on promotions. There was no health and safety procedure. Keep in mind that this 99Baht special applies to the Life Fitness Gym. I kind of didn't like the equipment over there. The weights are a bit antiquated...each machine requires free weights to be added, since it is not built-in with a pin...I like to move quickly with adjusting the weights incrementally, which requires too much effort over there.

My wife and I paid for a one year membership in November 2006 costing 6,000 baht each - i asked them today if i could apply this money towards a lifetime membership and was told "yes". So for an additional 9,000 baht each we are set up - at this price, i am going to do it

That's good of them to allow you to apply the 6k towards the lifetime membership and smart move on your behalf, using the leverage of two memberships...almost like getting two for the price of one.

I wonder if Ao made the decision on that or did she check with Tony? I was just curious how much leverage she has.

I went ahead and bought the lifetime membership for 15,000B -- no more dues ever. The price sheet said the regular price for lifetime is 30,000B. At either price, the lifetime seems like a fantastic deal, especially when it is even open 24 hours. Anyway the pool is really nice, and the machines are all in good shape. Hopefully I can lose some of this spare tire around my waist sometime. :)
