It's fine. I stay there sometimes as I know Vic, the owner.

Not sure about High season, but it's only around 6-700 Bht for an aircon room.

The view from your window is quite fun, looking over Soi 6 and it's various attractions. Of course it's totally girl friendly- some people even window shop from their loom!

The Queen Vic pub can be a welcome respite from the happenings outside also.

They have a few fan rooms too, about 450 Bht, but no window. I wouldn't bother unless it's cool season.

Occupancy rates there are quite high, but Vic or Jane can often fix you up with a room at the nearby Lord Nelson if they are full.

Hi Ronko63

I stayed there for three nights and want to give a fair comment.

It's Ok not to my usual standard and the best rooms (penthouse) have fair facilities DVD TV fan A/C etc and a great view of SOI 6....

Not a bad restaurant and had some nice breakfasts there.

But you must be warned that you have some four nasty flights of stairs to climb and no lifts.

Have a look at the website all rates seasons etc are there

http://www.queenvictoria-inn.com/

hope that helps

I stayed there for about 5 days in May, in one of the top floor rooms, and liked the place alot. Seemed like very good value for money to me. I especially liked the in-room coffee/tea facilities. AC was in good working order and the bed was good enough for me. There was an in-room safe in the room I occupied. Lots of closet/storage space. Housekeeping did a fine job - the place was clean throughout.

The owner, Vic (I didn't meet Jane), is a nice guy and seems well focused on his customers' satisfaction.

The food and bar service on the ground floor was efficient and the food was fine at what seemed a fair price. Strongbow cider in tap at the bar -- great stuff but it can undermine the evening's plans.

The in-house wireless internet was a plus to me as I had my laptop along.

The four flights of steps could be a detractor to some. I must admit being grateful that they had a staff member haul my bag up the steps on arrival.

I plan to stay there again.

I have stayed at the Queen Vic and their sister hotel the Lord Nelson several times now, and have no complaints at all. Yes, it is a bit of a hike to the 4th floor but it only hurts when you arrive with your bags.

Vic and Jane are great hosts, and so is John at the LN. I seldom eat there so really can't comment on the food, but the LN pub is a good place to hoist a few with some of the local expats. The rooms are clean and well kept, and in my opinion very good value for the price of 700b. Vic is currently in the process of renovating some of the rooms, and I am looking forward to trying them next visit. He also has taken over the bar next door and is converting it to more rooms too.

Stayed there twice, and with 2 more trips planned this year am intending staying there again. Vic is a very hospitable guy.

He has bought the building next door and is extending, increasing the number of rooms and is planning on a having some with jacuzzis

Soi 6 goes quiet after 1:00am so shouldn't disturb sleeping. And at night there is a security guy watches the back staircase to take the ID's of your guests.
